Kaspar Kamu
Dear all, So I'm shooting a film on 35mm in a couple of weeks and I'm looking for a compatible monitor? We're trying to get the HD-IVS, but it's not yet confirmed. What monitor would you recommend for video village? Would it work with any SDI monitor? Oh, and another question. Is it possible to record the feed onto an external recorder, say a Shogun directly from the video tap? Sorry for my novice questions! Best, Kaspar
Paul-Anthony
Hello. I own an Arricam LT camera with PAL IVS. I use the blackmagic monitor with internal recorder : https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1137319-REG/blackmagic_design_hyperd_avidas5hd_video_assist.html I need to use an analog to SDI converter https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/558906-REG/Blackmagic_Design_CONVMAAS_Mini_Converter_Analog_to.html
Kaspar Kamu
Amazing! Thanks for your reply! And is it then possible to record the footage onto the recorder and to edit the dailies that way?
Premium Member Satsuki Murashige Posted May 23, 2017 Premium Member Share Posted May 23, 2017 From a recent thread: http://www.cinematography.com/index.php?showtopic=71280&do=findComment&comment=455525 If you get a standard def video tap, you'll need to use a monitor with a composite video input like the TVLogic 5.6 or an older 17" Panasonic. If you get an HD tap, then you can use any monitor with an SDI input.
