These tests were shot with an Arriflex 2C. We were afraid tu put the film in our Penelope because of the perforations that are not perfectly regular, this could cause several damages on the mouvement of the camera. The 2C can eat any film. We are doing tests now with an Arricam to try to pitch the camera as silent as possible, it seems complicated... Its a flat scan from a Laser Graphics Scanstation. Yes, much better than 16mm, but there is an stupid issue with the perforations that are not cutted properly and this brings image unsteadiness, very frustrating because the look is really nice, it give us an interesting alternative to Kodak stock.

There is also a big difference between independent films and Hollywood films shooting 35. When you go around the world in film festivals and see independent features shot in 35mm, they just pop out from all the other films shot in digital. The skintones, the highlights, the colors, the vibration in the image, when its not completely erased in post-production, nothing else looks like this, and the big screen reveals all the beauty and unicity of modern 35mm.

Hello. I'm gonna add my experience to this, here in France, no more Fuji can be processed since two years now. Beware when you shoot tests on the first 100ft of a 400ft roll, the remjet in that part of the roll will sometimes not be a problem, but the problem occurs later on the roll, the closer you get to the core and the highest chance you will have remjet problems. We have done tones of tests in our lab here since we had feature films productions buying big stocks of Fuji for cheap. Best result was by pushing temperature in the baths at one point that the gelatin of the film became very fragile. In that case, all the remjet went off. But that is playing with fire when you are handling the footage of a proper production, so please no Fuji, I know that's sad, but its like that ... PA
