Mitch Lucas
Hey guys, I recently purchased a Chrosziel CMB-ST mattebox that has a 142.5mm opening, and it came with a rubber bellows that covers to 110mm. As it turns out, I want to use Zeiss super 16 lenses that have an 80mm opening. I have looked around and the adapters are either costly or back ordered. Does anyone have any cheaper solutions for covering the opening to prevent light leaks? Any leads would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mitch Lucas
Premium Member Satsuki Murashige Posted June 3, 2017 Premium Member Share Posted June 3, 2017 Just buy some rubber donuts: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/746843-REG/Redrock_Micro_8_003_0062_Donut_Kit_for_microMatteBox.html Or you can cut your own out of old neoprene mousepads. Stretch them around the lip of the lens and let it rest against the matte box. Just don't stretch it too much, or they will tend to rip. Works great.
