Feli di Giorgio
I'm moving from Sony to an Alexa EV and have a question about batteries. The camera draws 85w and I wanted to see what batteries people are using. 90w seems a little too close to the 85w requirement, so 150w seems a lot safer. Is anyone running the EV on 95-98w batteries or is everyone just going for 150w or larger? Any feedback would be appreciated. thanks
Albion Hockney
I've seen people use 90's they go fast though. A lot of people have the sharkfin with two 90's. Keep in mind TSA limits batteries over 90 or 100W/h
Feli di Giorgio
Yeah, the travel restrictions are part of the equation. I was looking at a sharkfin and two 90's instead of individual 150w/190w blocks. Core makes the HyperCore Prime 190w that splits in half giving you two 95w batteries that you can fly with. Premium Member Mark Kenfield Posted June 16, 2017 Premium Member Share Posted June 16, 2017 85w is the draw from the camera, 90w/hr is the capacity of the battery, so they're completely different measurements. I'd recommend going with batteries that can output constant 10amps (or higher) to cover both the camera and any accessories you add to it.
