No more k40, what's a good way to start with s8?

So, I was all gonna get into s8 and whatnot, then I hear about the k40 going away. This was the film everyone recommended I start playing with s8 on. So. . .now what? Regular negative stock? Does this cost more to process/transfer to tape?

A new color reversal will be replacing K-40 in a few weeks. a lot more places will process it too. Ektachrome 64T.

Also. . .does S8 film not come in the plastic mag things anymore? I've only seen very old reels from the very old days, never seen the new stuff. Do you have to hand spool/thread it? I have no idea what I'm talking about.

k40 should still be available if search for the film, you have around 12 months before switzerland ceases processing, theres also a processer in the US who will process k40. If you are in the US, try this place for your film requirements......

Super-8 still comes pre-loaded in the black plastic cartridge. There are even efforts being made to offer much larger film magazines for super-8 cameras that can take the 200 foot load.
