Guest jbraver
I have yet to see a good, basic explanation of the anamorphic format. Does anyone if there is one online? Thanks, Jake
Premium Member Jason Debus Posted July 29, 2005 Premium Member Share Posted July 29, 2005 Here are some good links that explain what anamorphic is and where it came from: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anamorphic http://www.theasc.com/magazine/june05/postfocus/index.html I'm sure there are others that can talk about the aesthetic value of using them, I haven't used them personally. The only thing I really know about them is that you get really cool looking lens flares off of them.

Landon D. Parks
other link: http://www.widescreenmuseum.com/widescreen/lobby.htm - click on the different "Icons" to view info about variouse kinds of "Animorphic Photography". You will see them, such as "Todd-ao" and "Cinerama"... just clikc those logos and it will explain a lot. also explore around that website, as it is loaded with tons of info about animorphic cinematography.
