Premium Member Alessandro Machi Posted August 23, 2005 Premium Member Share Posted August 23, 2005 Did the Dead Next Door just get released now? The film was made in 1985 in Super-8mm and involved uncredited Sam Raimi as one of the producers. http://www.filmthreat.com/Reviews.asp?Id=7858
Fredrik Broman
Did the Dead Next Door just get released now? No it's been released on dvd/vhs before. This is the remastered version. There's a blog about the restoration process: http://www.deadnextdoor.com/blog/index.html
Ryan Ball
Picked the movie up last night and wached a bit of it. The Super 8 looks pretty darned good. Anybody know what camera they used? Can't quite ID it from the photos. And I'm assuming it was K40 stock? Thanks.

Was it all Super-8, or is it a mix of 16mm and Super-8?
Ryan Ball
I believe it's all Super 8, judging by the director's comments on his site. Haven't listened to the commentary track on the DVD or watched the making-of featurette, but will do so this weekend. Every Super 8 afficianado should see this movie. It proves that the format is viable for feature work, especially if you're going for that '70s 16mm look.
