Stuart C Posted September 1, 2005 Share Posted September 1, 2005 Hi, I am about to shoot a short on HDV mini dv and have noticed some festivals accept films for exhibition on HDCAM tapes. Is it possible to transfer from a HDV mini dv to HDCAM directly for exhibition or are there issues involved ? If it helps, I'm shooting on a Z1 PAL at 25fps in the cinematone mode. Thanks. Premium Member David Mullen ASC Posted September 1, 2005 Premium Member Share Posted September 1, 2005 25F (Cineframe) is not really 25P, it's 50i that has been processed to look like 25P and then gets recorded back as 50i. You should be able to dub this to 50i/1080 HDCAM. Question is whether a film festival requesting 60i/1080 will accept it, or if you will have to get it converted from 50i to 60i. It shouldn't really be necessary since most HDCAM decks are switchable, so one could screen a 50i/1080 HDCAM tape. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
