If a dumb Tarzan has damaged the inner panel of the door by pressing it shut hard against the guide and pressure-plate release buttons without putting them in their correct positions where there are clearances in the door panel, the automatic realease button may not always work. I always make sure it has been pressed and the guides spring open before closing it. The door on my old camera bought secondhand was rather munted.
