Which artist do you mostly refer to???

I do have the impression that most Dps like to refer to paintings when they discuss the "look" of their movie with the director. So I would like to ask you which artist do you like the most?

Which visual artists you reference, whether painters, still photographers, etc., depends on the project. Yes, I have some favorites like Rembrandt, Sargent, Vermeer, Munch, Van Gogh, Hopper -- all of whom are common references for DP's.
