  1. Hi I'm recently posted for a DP now we're looking to crew-up in several more positions. The project is happening this summer between mid july to mid august tentative dates. Postions: Gaffer's, Grips, Sound recordyst (with own gear), editor's with feature film experience (must be able to handle and 4k and 6k footage, red code.   6. Hi I have a RED One MX question. When I'm shooting in Raw 4.5k Redcode 42, when looking at the image through the HD monitor and adjusting the setttings I'm not seeing what's acutally being recorded. Example, I cranked the iso up to 6400 and shot blow out footage on purpose, the monitor showed perfect good usable image. I'm totally confused about this. Is there a setting I need to adjust or is something turned off or can you see your accurate image settings when shooting in raw. Thanks for the help in advance.

Does anyone know how to take someone you've video tapped and make the background transparent to be used as a bug in the corner during a tv program of on the computer for them to walk across the screen. I have after effect 5.5.. Do I need a plug in or what do I need to achieve this desired result. This is much more difficult than green screening.
  13. I have a couple of questions guys. I'm putting together a few suites for my production company. Looking for high to medium range equipment recommodations. I'm looking for a nice audio engineering setup. Hardware and programs. From mixing boards to nears field speakers? I want to clean up audio for my films and make it crips and clean as possible. Please Help. Does any have a good Idea how to mic actors in the field. should I use wires, boom or both? How does Hollywood get that sound? Thanks guys in advance.

  15. Hi Guys, I need help with a couple of things on my film. I'm trying to find a company that specializes in making movie trailers from a completed film, for a reasonable price that is. I can do it however, I'm looking for a company that really knows what they're doing, they can make lemons into lemonade. Second, I need a artillery guy, knows guns, crimps nose bullets, has his own equipment and that is in Traveling distance to Maryland. Must be reasonable on prices, especially in this economy. Third, I may have asked this before, but I lost the company's info. Sorry. I'm looking for a animation company that can take my already animated film company's logo and make it pop by either re-doing it from scratch or whatever. Its time we look like the reel deal, if you know what I mean. Fourth, I need a squibs guy or pyro company, that's in driving distance from Maryland or in MD. I have about four kills shot and one car explosion that I need to look real as possible for a couple grand, that's the budget. I know I could lite a match to something and run like hell with the camera rolling but I heard there's a law against that.   19. Hi everyone, I'm in the middle of signing an option agreement, but I don't want to get swindled. I'm in need of some help understanding what certain articles of this contract mean. This is the first is the article. "For $1.OO and other goods and valubles consideration, receipt of which is hereby acknowledged _______ ________("Owner") hereby grants to Faye Schwab Productions, Inc. (" Producer") her successors and assignes, an exclusive option ("Option") on the screenplay currently entitled "_____" ("The Screenplay") for a period expiring on _____ _____ ____ ("The Option Period"). I'd like to know what exactly does this mean, because it sounds like they are buying the screenplay for $ 1.00. Here's another article I'd like clarity on. "The purchase price of the screenplay is two and one-half percent of the budget with the floor of ________________________ and a ceiling of _________________________. What does this mean? ceiling of what the budget or the screenplay's 2.1/2 percent? Is 2 1/2 percent even fair? What if the budget is 120 million then what do I get. Can anyone help with this thanks? What are some things I should be asking for?
  20. Hey Guys, I'm looking to purchase a camera for an indie feature I'm working on. I'd like to buy either the varicam or sdx900 or something equivalent, however I've beening checking around and some of the cameras have 1610 drum hours, more or less. Question is, are these cameras any good? What should I be paying for a used sdx900 or a Varicam with high drum hours? Suggestions!! I need a nice crisp heavy quality look for around 20k, what's a good camera SD or HD? Thanks for any help.

Hi, I have a very small productions company and I'm looking for a person who can do CG effects such as the kind done in Planet Terror, replacing a leg with a gun. erasing unwanted objects out of a scene. If the guy is an independent that's even better. I'm looking for someone to work with on future projects.
