  3. Hi I couldn't wait to get the theater money from Abracadabra, however the transaction was a nightmare. They double charged my credit card. One was approved for $536.3, the another was not, $145.22; and when I called the store to find out why the store act as if they didn't care. There for I am not posting what their money looks like because I will not support them in anyway. I now have to get a lawyer for this matter. Please try to do business with stand up individuals. This was a terrible thing and totally uncalled for.

  6. Thanks, I have the manual, don't like it. It tells you how to operate it but DPs know how to use it, if that makes any sense. I'm trying find out what is the easiest way to use this thing. For instance, I'll more than likely use the incident to start but I'm having a hard time figuring which setting is the most accurate t, f or ev. Which one is commonly used by a dp. Thanks
  7. Hey Guys, I have a Gossen Luna STar F2, light meter. I don't really understand the thing. I just need basic instructions for getting a proper reading. I know how to setting the ISO, but what setting should it be on to get the proper reading. t, f or EV? Thanks. Here's another amateur question and I have loads of them. After I set the camera to the the light meter setting, does it matter how far I am away from the subject? I am talking between 5 and 20 feet? Does the light tell me how far away I should be? As you can see I need your help. Hope to hear from some knowledgeable fella soon. Thanks film guys B)
  8. thanks guys. your experience and information has been a great help. i think you're right about the test and light meter. Checking prices for those right now.
  9. Hi, I am a digital shooter moving over to the film world. I just bought a cp16. Its been tuned up and ready for work. I've shot a sample music video to familairize myself with the film process and immediately I realized that I need help in a few areas: Focusing (meaning, keeping a moving subject in focus with a telephoto lens 12-75), Exposure Knowledge(At which F-Stop the camera should be when using a certain speed film when lit with a certain kind of light, I.E sunny, night time, or indoor artificial light). Of course, the first thing I did was buy some books, but you guys can explain it in a way any man can understand it. On film sets I've seen people measuring the talent's distance from the camera lens. Is this to ensure an accurate focus? I've also noticed during filming that, it was hard to tell if I had a sharp focus in certain low light levels. Is this why they measure? Can anyone put a film speed beside these lighting situations indoor dance club bright color lights: indoor room regular artifical light: outoor: afternoon 12pm. outdoor 4pm: outdoor 7pm golden hour: nightime bright street ligths carlight: Much help is needed. Thanx. dt.
  10. Can anyone tell me if its possible to get that look like the first 26mins of Saving Private Ryan with the CP16A. I think the director used a 45 degree shutter speed. Curious.
  11. cool, thanks. I have not recieved my camera yet but I'm sure to have many more questions when I start working with it. thanks you everyone who posted replies. I see I have alot of work to do.
  12. Hi, I bought a CP-16A off ebay, which seems to be in pretty good condition. It was boxed for about five years. It may be a little late but is the a good camera to create a sharp crisp film imagine like you see on DVD's after the film is scanned. Is that possible with this camera? Can any tell me where can I buy a power supply, wires and batteries for this camera. How much does these items cost? Also, is the camera upgradeable to super 16? I hear it is, but need to know for sure. Does anyone have experience with this camera, loading magazine, buttons, things I should watch out for? Anyone have a manual or know where I could get one? I bought this camera because I'm going to attempt to film a music video for some friends in a club. Which film stock will give me a clean sharp crisp image, or is this possible with this camera? DVD is where my final product will end up. Where do you send your film to get scanned to give it that crisp look? Does anyone know the process and cost? What kind of lighting kit could I buy to give me the ability to expose the film properly? I plan on shooting a feature with this camera later in the summer. Is this a good camera to shoot an independent feature with? This is my first set of questions. I'm also reading as we speak. I have much experience shooting video, now I'm ready for some real filmmaking. Thanks for anyone who can share information and experience with me.
