  1. well, I don't see any other option for me to be able to edit my own HD footage on my mac. (sometihng that will fit my budget). I'm jsut curious as to how much disk space 10bits DVCPRO HD footage takes - and if it's editable in FCP.
  2. Hi, thanks for the post... So why does the blackmagic website claim that their card can do 8, 10, 12 bits uncompressed DVCPRO HD ? Thanks Blackmagic
  3. Hi, question for you all... I'm about to shoot a feature on S16, then transfer everything to DVC-pro HD and edit in FCP. My question is, what is the bit depth of DVCpro HD? Can I ask the transfer house to transfer at 10bits? Second question, how much disc space would be required to store DVCPRO HD at 10bits? For, let's say, 1 hour? How about 8bits? Is 10 bits, full rez, even workable in FCP? Third question: If the transfer house does my transfer without sound and I sync my dat recorded track to my DVC pro HD tracks in FCP, will it fit, or will I have to do some funky things to sync it? Thank you very much for your time. And yes.. I'm on a budget.

  6. We want to shoot guerilla style in a motel room (no it's not porn but a Linklater's tape type movie) and we would like to be able to power our lights without blowing the fuse of the motel. We're shooting S16, so we'll need enough lights. Let's say we have a lowel kit like this: Lowel KIT (or any kits, this is just as an example) How could we power these lights without draining the power of the motel? I was thinking of a car battery, power inverters, something like the faroutlet for instance: FAROUTLET Can anybody give us pointers on how to do it? And be as specific as you can. My knowledge in electrical is limited. How do we use inverters? Best way to do it? How much power do we need, tips and tricks. Thank you very much - from a student filmmaker.
  7. Hi, Does anybody know what kind of film spools I could use in a Eclair ACL 200' mag? What exactly do I have to ask Kodak? Can I use the A-minima spools at all? Thanks for your time... M
  8. I"m planning on using this place for my transfer: bonolabs.com they do transfer to HD directly on Harddrives
  9. I want to know your impressions. How noisy it is? Do you like the stuff you shot with it? What are your impressions? Thanks!
