  1. Also part of the Aaton kit is an Arri MB-19 Mattebox and a smattering of 4x4 Filters. 85 and 85ND's, diffusion, etc. Price is of course negotiable. I am a motivated seller.
  2. Aaton XC S16 Film Camera. SN 1501 The XC is a hybrid camera between the LTR and XTR(not the Prod.) The XC has the Bi-Phase X base motor good for 6-54FPS and the magnetic drive. It has no side computer electronics(but I will challenge you to find an XTR with working computer.) The shutter is fixed at 180* and Crystal speeds are 24, 25, 29.97. The kit has two 400' DX magazines which were also recently over-hauled. Short and Extended eyepieces. Body mounted 9inch LWS Rods and a single rod for above the lens. Extra Fuses. PL mount and a Color HD video tap installed by Visual Products. Battery power updated to Anton Bauer. I will also include the original Aaton mount. Custom InnerSpace case included. As of April 2024 there have been approx 4,000ft of film run through the camera. Also Available are the Carl Zeiss Superspeed, Illumina and Cooke zoom Lenses. 9.5mm t1.3, 12mm t1.3, 16mm Illumia t1.3, 25mm t1.3, Cooke 9-50 t2.5... All PL mount (primes are B-Mount with adapters, Zoom hard mounted) Asking $28,500 with Lenses, $22,500 Camera Kit Only. This camera is Pristine. LA area welcome to inspect. Happy to live video with anybody out of area and also having a 3rd party inspect. Link:
  3. I have an Arri MB-19 Mattebox for sale. Its used but in great condition. Swing away is smooth and locks both open and closed with a snap. Eyebrow is in good condition and tightens smoothly and confidently. Two 4x5.5 trays. 15mm. No side eyebrows, top only. This is solid kit. Asking $600 or best offer. Must go. Includes Pelican 1550 case. More photos available. Los Angeles Pick-up preferred, but willing to ship. Thank you, Raoul Germain
  4. Hello, I have a Cooke 9-50 t2.5 Aaton mount that I am hoping to sell. This lens has smooth movement throughout the zoom and focus range. The aperture ring feels a bit loose and in need of lubrication, but it is also smooth and works as it should. Rear element is super clean. Front element coating has cleaning blemishes. Inside is clear and fungus free. There are no more opportunities to convert this lens to S16. I dont care what anyone says, this lens does not cover S16 in any kind of uniform way. Outside of R16 there is very obvious vignetting at the corners all the way through the focus range, with the worst of it from 9-20mm. Yes, it does COVER the S16 area, but not uniformly. I can provide false color images as well as actual frame grabs if anyone is interested in seeing those. 4/3 coverage is gorgeous! That said, this glass is sharp! Its one of the most desirable 16mm lenses produced. Perfect for that S16 4/3 project (thats just R16 full frame!) Open to offers. I think I am looking for about $2500. But I really am not sure. photos: https://flic.kr/s/aHBqjAYDZQ Thanks, Raoul Germain
  5. yes... I have a set of S16 Zeiss primes with native B-mounts. I have two Arri-B>Aaton adapters. One has a slide for quick change, and the other is held to lens with screws. both are very solid and backspacing for me has never been an issue with these mount adapters. As far as other lenses, I do not have experience with adapting to Aaton. I recently swapped over to PL mount and now have those B-speeds mounted to PL adapters. I am happy to part with theses if anyone is in the market.
  6. Hello Joel... I am not familiar with the LTR-X. What is your fastest FPS? Perhaps this is an LTR motor with the magnetic drive? My camera has the XTR motor good for 54 FPS. The body is LTR with no LCD. In the end, every Aaton before the Prod seems to be a custom camera. You should be able to adapt a v-mount battery to your camera. The question is the voltage range of your motor and control board. Li-Ion batteries can be in the 16v range fresh off the charger. You want to be in the 14v world. I read on another message that the internal power regulator can over heat when shedding excess voltage. The older Nicad's were 14.4 volts and dropped fairly quickly. These new li-ions hold all day with the minimal amp pull of an Aaton motor.
  7. Stephen, Great looking camera. I also own an XC. When I purchased it in 1999 I was told that it was an LTR body with the XTR Bi-phase motor and magnetic drive and minus all the XTR electronics. Mine is also field switchable between S16 and R16mm. I recently had an HD video tap and a PL mount installed at Visual Products(getting it back next week.) I personally am of the same purist mindset as you when it comes to video-tap, but also wanted to make the camera as desirable as possible to young directors and DP's who need the security of a monitored image. The DP I purchased the camera from had created a Videotap that butted against the eyepiece and held in place with a creative jig that held to the eyepiece. It was a great rig for steadicam and jib work. Until I decided to upgrade to internal tap I was planning on swapping the old sony CCD NTSC camera to an HD lipstick for better monitor compatibility. I still have the old video tap if you are interested in the design. Would be willing to sell it or share its design so you could 3d print something similar. I also have 2 Arri B to Aaton mount adapters I no longer need. One quick release and one not quick-release. Will share photos and Tap grabs when the camera returns next week. Happy Filming Raoul Germain www.raoulgermain.com
  8. Selling DP owned 16/S16 switchable Aaton XC camera. This camera has Aaton?s Bi-phase motor and magnetic drive. 6-54 fps. 180* fixed shutter. Factory DX S16 magazines. Aaton mount. Camera just overhauled by Abel Cine Burbank. No footage has been run since. I bought the camera 5 years ago and it has been a workhorse. It has an eyepiece video tap which works great for jib and steadi-cam work. Photos are available if you are interested. I have all service receipts, as does Abel Cine Burbank.
