  1. Thanks I'll give them a call. Nick
  2. Tried this with a Nikon D70 using Nikon Capture connected to my G4 powerbook, looks good and means you don't tie up the expensive cameras, post zoom also looks very effective. The Nikon software can be set to interval mode and still allows for bracketing providing the interval is long enough. I then view the stills to determine the best bracket and load these into Combustion or AE. The software loads the stills into the workspace as a still image sequence that animate when rendered. Combustions paint operator allows you to remove any unwanted birds or planes etc that may spoil the image. A post zoom can then be added or colour correction/levels keyframed over the duration on the shot. The results have been very good. Nick
  3. I started out with a BVW300AP the block eventually went and I had it replaced with a 400AP block and kept that for a few years and then to renew my contract with Sky I had to provide a DVW790WSP which I sold after 5 years, I went freelance about 3 years ago and for the last couple of years have been shooting on HDCAM, Digibeta, DVCPRO, HDV. One of my main clients now shoot for the International Olympic Committe and this work all has to be shot with Panasonic gear as they are a major sponsor of the olympic games, for the first time in my career I'm considering buying a Panasonic! I like the sound of the HDX900 that was anounced at NAB. To keep too much of my money from going out to hire companies I've collected various grip and lighting kit over the years and have found this kind of investment to be a slow but steady burner as far as returns go. I now really need a 970, 750/900, and a Varicam! I just hope that a practical disk based workflow will arrive soon, the P2 looks good on paper, but I'd like to see the faces of my broadcast clients when I hand them a box full of P2 cards at the end of a day's shoot. 4. Hi, I recently used a Magliner cart with two shelves for a video shoot and it proved very useful, where can I buy one in the UK? Nick
  5. I shot some handheld for Sunseeker boats (boat to boat) out in a lumpy Poole Harbour, I used a Canon IS 2/3" video lens (x17 I think) the results were supprisingly stable, perhaps this is what may have been used on the cycle race? Nick
  6. I shot a BBC documentary project last year that started out on a 750P and then we had to rent a 900 for the US segments, I've just seen the picture lock (pre-grade) and they look pretty similar. Nick
