  1. Does the bayonette have any advantages over the m42 mount? They are exactly the same except the m42 can use more lenses right? How did you hook up a moniter to the camera? I recently was abole to buy a real cheap lens for my M42. A " Pentax Screw RMC Tokina 80-200mm f4 Zoom Lens M42 " on ebay for about $10. When I screw it into the camera, everything seems fine except the zoom doesnt seem as pronounced as the normal lens that comes with the K3. I thought a 80-200 lens would have a greater zoom than a 17-70. Is there something I am missing?
  2. Forgive me for this stuid question. What is Color Depth and Contrast?
  3. How can you be forced to join a union? What would happen if you just ignored the letter?

  5. It was owned by a little old lady who only took it to church on sundays.
  6. I also have 2 K3s. One bayonet and one M42 mount. I think I am going to keep the M42 mount because there are alot of cheap lenses on ebay that can fit it.
  7. I thought film had a higher resolution than HD. Am I wrong?
  8. When you submit a 16mm short film to a film festival, is it better to submit a 16mm print or a DV copy?
  9. Isnt super 16 just a wider frame? I always figured, if you have access to the equipment, use super 16. Otherwise its not really worth it to spend alot of money on. Where are you going for grad studies? How did you get your fellowship?
  10. I never went to Tokyo, I always flew to Osaka. I also really like the Japanese movie "Koneko monogatari" One of my all time favorites. I love the animals.
  11. I love Japan, Where do you study Film? Here is a picture of me with my host brother I love the japanese movie "Hanabi"
  12. What happened was I was trying to sell a 16mm camera, and he emailed me and told me no one is going to buy it because nobody uses film anymore. I told him I liked the look of film and he said "What do you know you're only a student anyway" I have worked on both film and HD sets and suprisngly the HD sets were not run as smoothly as the HD sets. In fact twice the hard drive crashed and they lost scenes!! :o Oh well, to each his own. :)
  13. Oh damn, I didnt ever realize they made cameras that didnt do that. How hard is it to put a mirror on the shutter?
  14. I was talking to someone over the internet and he was being real rude to me. Saying stuff like Film sucks, HD is king etc... First off what percentage of people use HD and film? Is it really that high? I thought that the only people who use HD are the people who don't have the budget for Film. I guess I am wrong. Another thing I wanted to ask is, what do I tell people who are going on and on about noone shooting film anymore? I am still in school so I really dont't have an opinon, I just like the way film looks. Although I understand that the cost is pretty heavy.
  15. What kind of trick does a small shutter angle do?
  16. Hi Kanagi! I was an exchange student in Tottori in 2001. How is Film study in japan?
  17. The ebay auction for my camera I paid a little more because I thought it was worth it to buy from a reputable seller. I'll probably ask to send it back though. :(
  18. After a little bit of playing around, I found that the camera works fine until I use 8FPS then it goes really slow and then stops. After that it doesnt want to start up again.
  19. Can I get the manuel for the Bell & Howell 240 also please? :)
  20. It's not my auction, I was sharing it incase someone out there wanted to buy it.
  21. Hi guys I just thought I would inform yall of a deal i saw on ebay. Originally I was going to buy it myself but I really dont need it. It is a canon Scoopic 16mm camera. The reason is it cheap is because the seller listed it under Canon Scopic instead of Scoopic. It has no bids and ends soon currently at $199. I wish I had more money. :(
  22. Im pretty sure it is not a Film loop problem. There is no film in the camera right now and Pressing the button does not do anything. Yes it is wound.
  23. I think I might have found the problem. I opened up the front end of the camera and carefully took a look. I was able to get the camera to come back to life but only for a little bit. It seems there is something wrong with either the start button or the shutter. I did some research on the internet and apparently K3s are supposed to always stop so you can see out of the viewfinder, the shutter should always be closed. Mine only sometimes does it. Now I have to baby it whenever I want it to start, sometime evening opening the front and pushing the shutter mechanism a little. It seems to only be a problem when I shoot in 8 or 16 FPS. The only time I ever use these is when I am loading the film. Does anyone have any ideas?
