  1. thanks all the helpful advice. I think I better let the lab handle my film then, being that it is color negatives that need processing.
  2. Is it better to process at home or deliver the film to a lab? Which is more costly and more recommended?
  3. Do you wind as you go or is still spring-loaded?
  4. Are there supplies to buy for the camera like the battery, charger, and other assessories? No matter the quality, I must make worth the 2 dollars. If you have footage of the picture quality please send away or something close to it.
  5. Thanks for the helpful hint. Oh well...
  6. Three reasons: 1. Its all I got for now. 2. Its cheap. 3. Where am I to get a SVHS camcorder (cheaply) off the street instead of the internet? Besides, I don't want to use DV or any digital format out there. I want to stay with analoge until I get rich, but for now I stay with the warm touch of analouge.
  7. I'm guessing if noone answers, its impossible.. Right?
  8. I wonder...is it possible to acheive a film look to VHS products and camcorders? This would be really helpful.
  9. I have a Omnipro Panasonic PK-956 video camera and I bought it at a second-hand store for $2 (is this a good deal or not?) and it came with the basics of a video camera but no manual!!!!!!!! I don't know how to recharge the camera or where the battery goes or where to put the video tape (What tape format does it take). Can someone give me a manual on this camera or tell me how to do each of the following above? P.S: Any more info or supplies of this camera that I should know or buy would be very helpful.
  10. Can films be shot on Super-8 and be nominated for an Academy Award, if transferred to 35mm? The only movie I know nominated (with super-8 footage) for Academy Awards is 'JFK'. Is there something that determines this in the rules of the Academy Awards?
  11. Where might I find this camera (Mitchell SSR 16)?
  12. Can you modify dual perf cameras (Mitchell) or is this impossible due to some difficulties? Besides, has anyone done this before? Is there such a thing of a single-perf Mitchell?
  13. I have a question...If a camera runs dual pin registration (Mitchell), can it still run single perf film or it can only run dual perf? P.S. What would happen if you run single perf film through a dual perf camera (Mitchell)? This question bothers me the most (not the quality of film, but the camera itself).
  14. So there is a rare (or no) number of Mitchells that include for single-perf registration as I see it. Is this correct?
  15. This feature I am planning to feature with 16mm and it has to do with the alternate past. I want it to seem like a documentory/TV news type of feature that has to do with a fictional war, so I decided to use newsreel cameras like the Mitchell 16mm. But questions come up when I see this camera... Is this camera worth getting? If so, where can you locate them? I have been trying to find them but the only one I can find is a prop verson for theaterical, commerical, etc. uses. If not, then what other 16mm newsreel cameras are there to buy/rent that are worth getting?
  16. The Arriflex S/B is the only affordable camera that has a registration pin function on it. Does this function really matter? Is it any different to other 16mm cameras and their picture? Besides is this the only 16mm camera that has this function?
  17. This depends on which is easier and least expensive.
  18. To add sound to super 8, does the sound strip have to come from a reel-to-reel recorder (the original) or can it come from any type of reel-to-reel media (cassettes, etc.) or is there a place to transfer digital media (CDs, DATs, etc...) to sound strips to place on the super 8? Please respond. URGENT due to budget cost! "Even the most complex problems have the simplest answers."
  19. Define the word/term "D.I." I understand "print" but don't know yet until I find out what "D.I." means.
  20. Is it possible to blow up Super/Single 8 to 16mm or 35mm? If so, how much is it to do so? I am shooting on Super 8 and wish to blow it up for viewing on a 16mm priojector or in a film festival. This is URGENT! Please respond. "Even the most complex problem has a simple answer"-Unknown
  21. 3 - some parts of some shots to have coloured areas (i.e. red lips on a b/w face). I am shooting 16mm. Is it possible with this format or it has to be video? If it is possible with 16mm, how expensive is this and how is the process done?
  22. I'm am making a feature that is being shot with black and white film. It is a war story and to add this crazy effect I wanted to tint or color some parts of the movie to seem that while it is black and white it is also colored, like "Schindler's List". Is this possible to do on 16mm or 35mm is needed? If possible on 16mm, how can it be done and is it expensive to do this process? "Even complex problems have simple answers"-?
