  4. Thank you Dom for that detailed explanation ! As you said, it is easy to introduce more problems without the proper test gear. The body will probably be sent out for repair. but as a technical person I appreciate understanding how the Arri procedure works. Cheers.
  5. Processing B&W these days must be very hard to find.......
  6. If possible, I would like to understand the mechanics of adjusting the ground glass distance on this BL3. The camera has good focus on the focal plane but not accurate in the viewfinder. The flange focal depth was measured and is good. The 50mm Zeiss test lens is good, the ground glass image is not. Both the lens and viewfinder system were checked on a collimator. With the 50mm lens, cam body focal plane located 4 ft from test chart, lens has focus ring reading 4.5 ft when focused. Same lens on a Arri 435 body reads 4ft spot on at 4 ft distance from chart. How difficult is it to raise or lower the ground glass / block system ? Do the adjuster screws B control this or is it single screw A ? ( I understand Arri may use 2 screws where Moviecam only uses one ) Screws B have fixed nuts below which do not turn.( 2nd photo ) As screws B are turned clockwise the heads retreat lower in the body, does this lower the ground glass support frame ? Thanks for any input you can provide. ( we may be sending this body away for service but it would still be nice to understand how easy or difficult this adjustment is before we do that.) ( My email is hemshaw at gmail dot com )
  7. Thank you very much Bernie, I appreciate that. I do understand the mirror procedure, will advise him accordingly. ( and with power disconnected too ! ) cheers. Tree
  8. Correction: Sorry, question should be specifically for an SR1 body, but I expect an SR2 would have the same results maybe.
  9. I have a 12-120 Angenieux 2.2 zoom from a 16BL. Will this B mount lens fit into an SR1 or SR2 (B mount) body and lock in / function properly ? Not hit mirror ? Owner with camera is 500 miles away and I have no SR 'B' bodies here to check it on, only PL bodies as is common now. I realize aperture functions of the SR won't connect, but physically is this combination workable as a manual lens only ? TIA.
  10. Selling an older ARRI zoom motor ( 12 volts ) with a very clean 12 - 120mm Angenieux zoom ( bayonet mount ). Motor runs well , with smooth rheostat. Photos are here: http://tinyurl.com/mwfyhv Asking $ 300 US each or $ 550 for both . Email is: hemshaw at gmail dot com
  11. We planned to sell ours in excellent cond with the same CPT crystal and a reg test done on it for $3500. Co-owner decided to keep it.... I would have been happy to see $3K on ebay for it. Your crystal is a good selling point ( highlite that in your ad ) but if you see $4K then run to the bank. I would ask for a reg test on any body sold as is ......... YMMV
  12. Brand new, used once - STEADYBAG. Larger size for ENG or 16/35mm cameras. " The 7lb Steadybag is roughly 16.5 x 11.5 x 2.25 inches, with a 1.5 inch wide strap that adjusts between 25.5 and 42 inches in length. The Steadybag is a simple camera support system for film or video cameras, similar in concept to a bean bag and available in several sizes. Don’t let the simplicity of the Steadybag fool you, this is no ordinary bean bag. It has a tough black nylon exterior that is textured enough not to be slippery, but also brushes off and cleans up easily. The filling is composed of custom-milled polypropylene beads that tend to provide a certain “stiction” and hold the shape of the bag. Once you solidly set the bag down, the contents won’t shift or settle like cheap beanbags do. This seems to be a property of the filling material used. The casing shape and dimensions form a rectangular “flattish” sort of bag. There is a nice balance of filling vs. airspace, the bags have enough unfilled space to actually cradle your equipment without coming in contact with the surface the bag is sitting on. Everything is constructed very durably, and has a quality fit and finish. " $ 40 US plus shipping. ( List price $ 70 )

  16. thanks , I tried that earlier but it gives me format error.. I guess it doesn't like the MS Pro stick with magicgate.
  17. I have a new 512mb Lexar memory stick pro to format. Do not have the maintenance manual, have the operation manual pdf. Using HDW 900 H camera. any tips on easy way to format this stick ? It probably came from a PC and has wrong format. Operation manual does not cover formatting.
  18. Thanks for this Shannon, I will check our camera today for the latest firmware update. Valuable information.
  19. I don't see a internal memory battery spec on the XLH1 brochure. We are looking at a 2 camera shoot with both cameras jam synced to time of day free run. After jamming they will roam independent, no cables to TC generator . When we power off for main batt changes or say lunch, will time of day TC be affected ? The old XL1 had a 2016 cell in the grip, where and what is the memory power on the H1 ?. Thanks in advance.
