  1. I think the problem is that I didn't mark it properly. I have the height worked out, just not the alignment.
  2. Thanks Chris, I'll look into it. If that's the case - do you think it might be the actual mount is loose, because when I turn it to switch lenses, the mount feels kind of shaky...
  3. I had used my rx-4 recently for a shoot and one of the problems I had noticed was for focusing both the 10mm and 25mm rx switar lenses. Although I am a complete novice here, it seemed that when I had measured the focal distance and set it accordingly - say 7 feet - it was out of focus and only became pin sharp when I had refocused at about 30ft to infinity. What's going on?
  4. I've followed the instructions for the removal of K-3 loop formers, pretty much to the letter - no problems engaging the spring etc. Only problem is, I've noticed that the sprocket is set incorrectly and isn't working alongside the pulldown claw, thus chewing my film to bits. Do I keep readjusting the sprocket or have I screwed it up for good?
  5. I've seen a nice RX4 for sale, with a couple of lenses spare - so might be able to get a long Angenieux lens with it for about £600
  6. I'd third it If i believed they'd be affordable
  7. As my K-3 has a registering problem, I'm considering buying another camera. Possibly either a Pentaflex AK16 or a Beaulieu. I had been looking for a Kinor 16CX - 1M, but can't find one at the moment. Anyone have any advice or recommendations for anything sub £600?
  8. Thanks for your sound advice guys, I'll bear it all in mind.
  9. Wish I was in NYC - I'd gladly take you up on your offer.
  10. I have always wanted to learn how to repair and service cine cameras, but I don't know the best way to go about it. I'm not sure if there is a course or if you need some form of intern/apprenticeship. Does anyone have some advice as to how I get started?
  11. I've recently had my processed film back with a telecine transfer and although I was very pleased with the images, there was a slight snag, in that the images were slightly unsteady. Not flickering, but would pull upwards slightly. Would it be because of the transporting of the film?
  12. I've been practising with some scrap film, but I'm not entirely sure it's transporting properly. It's going through smoothly enough, but it's making a bit of noise.. Will it affect the picture? ie flicker that kinda thing?
