  1. Hey all: Here is a link to my first full reel as a DP. Any comments would be greatly appreciated. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OIf3B56Tiy0 A few specific questions: 1. Does the song lend itself to too dark of a tone? 2. Are there any spots that seem to drag particularly? Again, any and all comments would be great. Thanks
  2. Man I wish I had known it was someone on this board shooting this movie. I walked by the Hogg auditorium set almost everyday on my way to class just to watch a few minutes of the production and definitely came out for the night shoot in front of the Architecture building where I believe it was the last shot from UT campus. It was exciting to see that big of a production first hand.
  3. Hey sorry to bring up such an old topic, but have you posted or atleast seen the final version of the video yet? How does it look?
  4. I think for the gunshot you could show the guy pulling out his gun quickly, have him line up, and then possibly cut to a hardlighted shadow on the wall of the alley/adjacent building, then the sound effect could be added in post and you could cut quickly back to the woman now covered in blood. This would be cheap, and would still get the point across.
  5. After I had to make a school project last year....i got into it and never looked back, 17.
  6. Oh and I'm only really looking for comments about the cinematography, not really the script or anything of that sort.
  7. I personally like the shot at the end of The Devils Rejects, on the open highway. I don't think it should really be part of this list, but I think its a really cool scene.
  8. This video is a project that I was helping on for some of my friends for their economics class. Its one of my first better quality films and I'd just like some honest critique on it. Thanks. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GJhvtnHApzo
  9. I'm don't know all that much about the film business or anything, but I'd like this section too.
  10. Hey man for fake blood, this website has a lot of different types of recipies for your use http://www.exposure.co.uk/eejit/blood/blood.html for other props I would say go to a halloween shop or any kind of party shop pretty soon because you might be able to find some cool stuff for really cheap as it was just halloween. Also just be creative, for gunshot wounds do the air pressure technique and such, it does actually look pretty good on camera.
