  1. Yep sorry I know that  ...BUT as I'm not a native English speaker I lack some technical vocab and use some shortcuts to try to express myself (sorry 'bout that :( ). Question was indeed about some "conversion" but not directly in the FOV (focal ?) but virtually : ok, that's true the FOV does not varry but the "viewing angle" (what you really see thru the lens) varries if you use a Super 8 cam instead of a SLR and if you transfort this angle into some "virtual FOV" you get some "equivalent" in S8 for a SLR lens... I finally found some magic formula in the web to make those conversions... Using this conversion method I indeed understood that using some long focal (SLR basis) would be insane in S8 (who need a 7000mm  ...not me) so I am now wondering if such adaptaters are really helful (could help in getting long focal with my SLR lenses but as I really like wide angles  ) Anyway, part of my question was also to have a feedback from users about their use of it (what about macro stuff available for cheap for SLR used on S8 cams ?...) or anything that could help me and others to have a precise idea of what those adapters are good at :D Thanks for your help ;)
  2. Hi Super 8 freaks ! I recently went to some photo/cine exhibition and I have seen some C-mount to photo mount (Nikon or Leicaflex) adapter. I wanted to have some more info about such products : - do some of you use such items ? - what about optical quality ? - what about conversion factors between SLR and Super 8 ? (if I use a 28mm SLR lens what will it be in S8 ?) - isn't there some risk for the camera if used with "big" zooms ? - ... Waiting for your answers/experience... Gybe
  3. Sure it helps ! Thanks a lot. I took some time to finally test it with the above explanations...it seems that there is a small misfunctioning with the main trigger (the one you press to film) I may need to have it checked by a profesionnal :( However here are some questions about some details : - concerning the "Delorean" type latch that swings out to reveal a light sensor for doing time-exposure how do you open it ? Does it swings out itself, should I make it swing out (seems quite hard, I don't want to break my camera)? - now I know there is a dial to adjust the shutter but is it possible to adjust it when filming (fade out)? and what about the very small trigger just near the shutter dial (small trigger with some color dots that seems to be related with the shutter adjustment dial) ? - there is also another button with R written, it's a slider on the same side that the shutter adjustment dial...do you have any idea of it's use ?
  4. Hi everybody and happy new year with lots of Super 8 rolls !! That was not for new year's eve but I just got a Bauer C Royal 6E from a german guy ; looks nice, lense have no scratch, doesn't seem to be so old...really good status BUT, yes there's a but :( , I don't have the user manual of this wonderful cam and after a few tests it seems that I can't make it turn properly  There are many buttons and selectors and I just managed to make it work at the different speeds (but not 54 fps) by touching I don't know how many buttons  However, if some of you have some royal series manuals which could help me understand what I should do to film...then you're welcome ! And if you have the Bauer Royal C 6E manual, then you're the right guy ! :D Thanks a lot for your help.
  5. Using once a gain this topic for my "problems" with this Eumig camera. I still have no user manual so if you have it...please share it :D And I wanted to know if some of you have any idea of somewhere I could find a spare PMA (wide angle) lens 'cause the one I have is badly scratched (black spot) in the middle of the lens :( ... if you have pieces of advice ;)
  6. I just bought a Nautica but the seller lost the user manual...if it were possible for you to scan it, it would just be wonderful :D
  7. Hi guys, I'm a newbie on this forum, I've been shooting on S8 for about a year and a half but always on K40 so I didn't really bothered about athers films or technical stuff about S8. I've read loads of posts on different forums, I've tried to understand lots of things but there is still something I don't get : notches on cartriges ! I found many things on Super8wiki and others on another websote (I can't tell which on) where I found this pic : Here is what I understand : - sensitivity of the film is represented buy the higher notch (good explanation on super8wiki) - lower notch is for wratten 85 filter What I don't get is the use of this lower notch as far as you can select on your camera if you're on Daylight (wratten filter "activated") or Tungsten (filter disabled)... My question could be even more specific : I'd like to try Plus-X or 100D reels but both need to be exposed with Daylight settings but WITHOUT filter  sounds a bit problematic in my opinion... I think there's another element I forgot and that's the "lightness sensor" (why can't I right a proper english when it becomes technical <_< ...sorry I'm just another European who can't speak English properly :P ). If you cound please help me understanding hos this stuff works...waiting for your knowledge  Keep Super 8 evil ! :D
  8. Hi Scot, Really good job on this feature film ! Just one question concerning the Ipod/PSP format : what software do you use to convert your files ? Keep Super 8 evil !
