  1. Hi, I'm shooting a stop motion animation this week, and I was wondering how I could mount an HVX200 at 90 degrees. I'd like to hang it overhead 5-7 feet off the ground. It's a pretty small studio, so a jib won't fit. Polecats, maybe? I can't seem to wrap my head around it. Thanks alot.
  2. I have to light a night scene at this convenient store in a gas station alongside a highway road. It's a dialogue between two characters, with one player behind the counter and one on the other side. It's supposed to be intimate with a bit of crying. With the odd distance and blocking, how can I express intimacy? I was thinking of bringing out shadows in the faces, simulate the neon lights from the glass pane as kickers. Maybe start on close ups then move on to extremes. I have access to diva lights, dedo 400's, and arri 575's and redheads. I'll be shooting with a panasonic hvx200. Oh and it's a night for night. Thanks
  3. I'm a huge fan of Amy Winehouse. Did you get to talk? Haha. These lights look promising. Those focus reflectors seem to be the truth. Are they the first lights to feature them?
  4. I've a related question, if you may. Let's say you have a grounded plug, can you use a 2 prong adaptor to plug it in an ungrounded socket?
  5. Thats what I thought, too. The lights are fine. The smoking stopped when I took the scrims off. Thanks. I'll let it run for a few minutes until it stops smoking. It'll take a while, as there are four scrims and three protective meshes. Anyone know of a way I can wipe the coating off?
  6. It really depends on what the scene calls for. Softlight and warm is still too broad. Collaborate with art department and decide on location. Maybe then we could come up with ideas.
  7. The protective mesh and scrims it came with seem to heat up and smoke. Is that normal? http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller...oughType=search
