  1. Thanks for your nice replies. There are still some copies for thbose who are interested in it.
  2. The price is US $ 30,000.00. We will print a report about this table in schmalfilm magazine and inside my new book about Super 8 - coming soon, even in English :)
  3. On Dec 30, 2010, the last roll of Kodachrome 40 Super 8 film will be processed at Dwayne's lab in Kansas, USA. Our music clip "Kodachrome" is a final homage to this magnificent material. My link
  4. Yes, Nicholas, there are still some copies! To all orderers: All copies of the book have been shipped today. It took some more time because we do have a heavy snow disaster here in Germany and the transport from the printers to our office took some more days than suggested :).
  5. Hi Edward, atoll medien has a lot of experiences with the run of small quantities. But this case is different. The author Lutz Auhage realized this book as an Apple photo book with special software. Printing is very expensive because it is not a normal digital format (like pdf) that he is using. This is why there is one run only.
  6. There is a little trailer about the book: http://vimeo.com/15545904
  7. There has been a lot of interest for the new book written by Lutz Auhage. Because of many questions: International shipping by Air Mail is Euro 8 to any place in the world. So there is a total of Euro 47.95. The office of atoll medien told me 30 of the 100 books in English language have been sold in one day ;).
  8. The small publishing house atoll medien that printed my books about Movie Cameras and Movie Projectors is now presenting a new and very special book that might be interesting for Super 8 freaks. "Super8 Scope" written by Lutz Auhage is in English language only. Who attached a Kowa 8Z anamorphic lens and compendium to a Nizo? Who built a contact printer from a Super 8 projector with additional reel arms and a lamp housing? Who blows up Super 8 onto 16mm with an archaic apparatus made from a Krasnogorsk camera? Lutz Auhage does things like that. Now he has written an illustrated book on the topic which atoll medien is pleased to offer in a limited edition of 100 copies. In eleven chapters, it covers anamorphic shooting, developing, contact and optical copying, rotoscoping, blue screen, blow ups, film scanning and editing. The 47-year-old tinkerer has created his own devices in each of these areas and presents his working machines. The price is Euro 39.95 plus shipping. If you have any interest you might send an e-mail to info@atollmedien.de
  9. In an interview with schmalfilm magazine (German issue of former small format mag), one of the owners of Ikonoskop said that they would be able to design a Double Super 8 version of the A-Cam SP-16. So there is a possibility to get a new camera - it's just a matter of money :). We asked the owners of Ikonoskop to give us an idea of the price for this little gem... I will come back to tell you when I know it.
  10. Fuji R25N Daylight film is still available. US customers can buy on www.retro8.com or FFR Filmtechnik (www.ffr-film.de)and maybe on other places, too. Processing can be done at Fuji itself or at Tak Kohyama's Retro 8. In any case films must be send to Retro 8 because Fuji does not take cartridges form private customers. Processing can me done with adding a magnetic stripe at Fuji. There are also other stocks (black and white, Fuji Velvia, Astia 100F, T64 prof) for Single 8. You can see this on Retro 8, FFR-Film and Wittner Cinetec. Single 8 is still alive!
  11. Hi, for my articles in schmalfilm magazine I would be interested to get some informations about your results with the new Kodak Ektachrome 100D in the Super 8 cartridge. I am always reading about people questioning if their camera will read the notch of the cartridge correctly. But where are all those Super 8 filmers that already took the chance to try this new film? What Super 8 camera model did you use, was the exposure fine? What about the colors and the grain? Any problems? Please let me know - in the thread or by private message.
  12. Dear friends, thank you so much for all your ideas of bringing back the English issue of smallformat. Well, it is a difficult and expensive thing. Maybe a German/English version could be a solution in the future, like the bi-lingual magazines of airlines. But to achieve this we would need a lot of support - by subscribers, advertisers and sponsors. The German schmalfilm magazine is still doing well, has more than 4,000 readers and a lot os advertisers. All ideas are highly appreciated. Juergen
  13. Hi Alex, in the last days there have been many e-mails and private messages concerning subscriptions of schmalfilm for English speaking readers. Some suggested to put short English summaries into each German article. Do you think this would help to get back some former smallformat subscribers?
  14. Kodak Manager Chis Johnson presents the new E100D in a video in English language. See first News on www.schmalfilm.de
  15. I was just talking about translation costs for the German issue - no printing and shipping included.
  16. Hi Alessandro, nice to hear from you. Indeed, there are new subscribers of schmalfilm magazine on www.filmshooting.com that cannot read German - just for the reason of the scoop we did with the Ektachrome 100D story. But to be honest - to have a fine English translation, we would need more than 300 subscribers - you know how difficult this is...
  17. New is, for example, the lower price - its like the E64T, that means you may save 10 US $ per cartridge. And new is also the end of the Ektachrome 64T.
  18. In our new issue we are introducing the new Kodak Super-8 Ektachrome 100D and we have an interview with Chris Johnson, the new product manager of Kodak for Origination Films, about the changes in the Super 8 portfolio. There are more new films to come - and Kodak cares about the customers in a new way. This is good news for all Super 8 fans. More on http://www.schmalfilm.de and in our new issue - unfortunately in German language only. Unfortunately, meanwhile we are the only professionally made magazine for small format filmmakers in the whole world...
  19. One year ago, the last issue of smallformat magazine has been published. We still have some copies of all issues (1/2005, 1-6/2006, 1-6/2007, 1-6/2008). If you are interested to buy some or all, this might be the last chance to do so. Just let me have a PM or send me an e-mail. The German issue, schmalfilm magazine, is still alive and healthy. Now this German publication is the last professionaly produced periodical for Super 8 and 16 mm. All the others have gone... Save Super 8 - use Super 8! Juergen
  20. Dear friends of the former smallformat magazine, the last issue of smallformat no. 6/2008 has been shipped some weeks ago and you will have received it by now. Some of you have been interested to subscribe to schmalfilm afterwards. Here is the newest issue 1/2009: Inside there is an interview with the designer of the famous Carena Standard 8 camera from the principality of Liechtenstein. Furthermore a description of re-building the Pentaflex 16 for Super 16 and an article about the US filmmakers Sherry Millner and Ernest Larsen who worked with two projectors in one screening. All in German language of course... If you are interested in a subscription, this is Euro 73.20 for six issues per year. Please let me know your e-mail address and your full postal address in a pm.
  21. new link http://schmalfilm.schiele-schoen.de/de/con...n3-500t-super-8
  22. The transfer for the 3 scenes has been improved now. Hope you will get a better impression of Vision3 500T in Super 8 now.
  23. ... made with a Leicina Special, Optivaron 1:12.8/6-66mm schmalfilm More about this test inside schmalfilm 1/2009 - in German language only :(
  24. Hi Paul, I informed the publisher's office. They will ship another copy.
