  1. Letus Elite plus 1/2" Relay Lens Great kit. Selling it as I am just not using it. Perfect for an EX3. I used it without the Relay Lens at first, and then added the Relay Lens. It's very quick to work with, and the results are stunning. When you use it without the Relay Lens there is an EX3 Anchormat lens there to drop in for correct optical correction. EOS Mount Nikon Mount M42 Mount Chrosziel 15mm Lightweight Baseplate 2 sets of 15mm Rods Zacuto 15mm Support / Step Up Zacuto Brace which holds everything in place. This is a great set up, very solid and does not slip throughout the day. Photos of the gear here (including some shots of it set up on my EX3) https://dl.dropbox.com/u/6647060/Letus.zip I shot some great looking spots with this set up, including this one: Open to offers, and or trade for other camera or lighting equipment. 5. Hi, I do a lot of this work. I travel and film disabled athletes skiing, in both New Zealand and the USA. You are lucky that they are first timers... you will be able to keep up! I have followed with my PDW-700 - and it is fine to work with - just a bit limiting die to size and weight. Seeing the viewfinder is a challenge on all systems - and you are better off with a wide lens, knowing your framing, and watching around you for other skiers. If you can convince production to go with a smaller camera, an EX3, is a great choice. Best advice is to have a skiing assistant close to you at all times, primarily to hand off to between takes, and when standing in the lift line. You will be able to shoot better and for longer. Have a look on my website under dock montage and 2nd Unit DP to see some examples. Cheers, Ben www.ruff.co.nz
  6. Sony DSR500wsp Camera Body for sale. Includes Fujinon 20x8.6BERM Lens with 2x extender. PAL 16:9 (switchable to 4:3). Takes DV and full size DVCAM Tapes. I always used a Kata cover on the camera to protect it, and this body-glove cover is included in the auction. It covers the body and the viewfinder. I only ever used Sony PDVM Tapes. Also included is a Portabrace Softbag. Camera Manual included. Lens Manual Included. Hours are: Head Drum: 1551 Tape Transport: 782 Total: 2321 Red Eye Wide Angle Adaptor. (This 82mm screw in adaptor is non-zoom through, but it is very high quality and very helpful when you need to be just a little bit wider. It comes in a pouch). UV Filter. Lens Caps. The lens is in excellent condition (I have owned it from new) and there are no marks or chips of any kind on the glass. A box of new 10 x Sony PDVM-40N Tapes is included. A Sony Head Cleaning Tape is also included. (I only used this twice). All items are in excellent condition. The camera has been used to shoot many broadcast TV shows with and is accepted by all NZ and many international broadcasters. Just add batteries and a tripod and you are ready to make money with this package in the broadcast and corporate world. This 2/3" camera can capture remarkable pictures and with the control available the results are better than many of the Handycams on the market. Located in Queenstown, New Zealand. Email me for more details and photos: ben@ruff.co.nz NZ$8000 (approx US$5000)
  7. Hi, I have a Preston Microforce plus Heden M26T Motor for sale. The equipment is all in excellent condition. Microforce was serviced by Fred at Preston in July 2007 and it has not been used since. Camera run switch has been replaced by Preston to a 3 position switch that allows momentary and continuous signals. (This makes it 435 compatible). Arri MH-3 Motor Holder is included. 19mm. Also a pan handle clamp for the microforce. Buyer pays for shipping from New Zealand. Make me an offer. Cheers, Ben Ruffell ben@ruff.co.nz www.ruff.co.nz
  8. Don't leave your film outside. Don't put it in the glove box. Those are both really silly ideas. Just treat it normally. It will be fine. Big temperature fluctuations are where the problems are. Just keep it constant and you will be fine. I have loaded millions of feet of film in all kinds of temperatures and I have never had a problem. Just treat it with respect. (Oh... and don't go doing jumping jacks on show and ice... thats an accident waiting to happen). Ben Ruffell Cameraman www.ruff.co.nz
  9. Carbon legs work great in the cold. Don't worry about metal surfaces... if you think that you will have a problem with them just wrap some tape over them. Tennis racquet handle tape is great to wrap over exposed metal handles for example. Ben Ruffell www.ruff.co.nz
  10. Just keep the camera and lenses outside in the cold environment. Don't be tempted to bring them inside a van. It is the temperature change that will give you all sorts of problems. Each night, dry them out. Keep the gear in a warm room (with heaters and dehumidifiers). In the morning it goes once from hot to cold - and you will be fine. Keep your cases out of the snow if possible. Rest them on apple boxes or tarps or magliners. Have your batteries in insulated bags. (See my website for examples). And if it is very cold, keep them on the dolly or apple boxes. Just expose normally. A quick and dirty check with a spot meter on snow and then expose 2 and a half stops under that reading often works well. Good luck. Ben Ruffell Cameraman www.ruff.co.nz
  11. Looking to buy a Portamount. Manufactured by Embra Products many years ago. Please email me ben@ruff.co.nz if you have one for sale. Thanks, Ben Ruffell Camerman Queenstown
  12. Hello, I have a Zoom Mesmerizer for sale. It is made by Kish Optics in the US. www.kishoptics.com The mesmerizer mounts to the rear of a zoom lens (such as in the position of an extender), and it allows you to rotate the image in camera. The gear on the side lets you do this with a follow focus or a lens motor. The unit is in excellent used condition. They are a special order item that sells for US$7,000 I am selling this one for US$2,700 Email for pictures.
