  1. We are looking for a rental house or private owner that would be interested in trading our set of Master Primes (16mm, 25mm, 32mm, 50mm, 75mm, 100mm, feet) for a 6 lens set of UP's in the same range and a MKIII Set of Super Speeds. Or we would also consider a part trade with cash difference from the buyer. That is a set of MKIII Super Speeds or UP's and cash difference from you. If you wish to buy outright, please make an offer. The lenses are in mint condition, bought new in July 2008 with Arri MP factory roadcases with room for 4 lenses per case. Original Arri packaging also available. Photos can be viewed at: Master Primes_1 Master Prime_2 Scott Webster General Manager Rocket Rentals New Zealand www.rocketrentals.com PH:+649-3734330
  2. Brett, We found the SIM Video EVF mount somewhat clumsy compared to the ET solution. One of my favorite configurations is a hybrid of the ET EVF and SIM Handle kit. Fletch Red I prefer the SIM Video design for the Video break out box as it gives another flat surface to velcro/mount to. The configuration does have it's limitations. If you're looking to record to Red Drive you will need to get a Switronix Double V-Lock Adapter Switronix and mount a v-lock male connection to the Red Drive (we do this with velcro heavy duty dual lock). You shoot with a battery on one side and the Red Drive on the other. Alternatively you can run with long bottom rods and mount the Red Drive Cradle to that. The hybrid system still allows top rod mounting from the front Red top mount but there is no rear top rod support. The pure SIM system does not provide top rod mounting. For CF only recording it's a great rig, very compact. Those coming from an ENG HD style camera background seem to prefer the setup and those who are use to working with film cameras prefer the full battle rig. We use the ET bridge and dovetail so I can't advise on the SIM combo. You will need to check with SIM to see if the do a 'handle/battery mount' only option. You then need a custom bracket to fit from the SIM handle (we got ours from Fletcher Camera), one Red Top Mount and the ET EVF Mount.

  7. I was more thinking that in David's case he is already involved in an organization that has an established network of peers and one of those members has had extensive hands on time with the camera. I'm pretty sure the first and only answer David would get, would be 'NDA'.
  8. Given that Rodney Charters had a prototype for 3 weeks of unrestricted testing and is an ASC brother David, perhaps he would be a good place to start?
  9. Park Road Post has done a transfer to film of 'Crossing the Line' by all accounts they were happy with the result. They have also done a re-grade of the original 4k version. I have not met anyone other then PRP staff that have seen either. For a full rundown of the 'Crossing the Line' shoot click here for the Onfilm article.
