If two perf is half from 4 perf, as far as framing, then what formats can we have if we consider that the width of the frame remains the same? And if we want 4:3 what negative area will be there? Is it going to be much more than super 16? Does anybody has all the calculations?

Hi I know Optar is made in Russia, and I heard a story that after WWII the Russians transfered the Zeiss factory with the optical engineers and machinery to Russia and forced them to manufacture optics as Zeiss quality in Russia. Of course when you are forced to do something against your free will you don't get same results but was that the foundation of the Optar? I saw a set of optar S16 T1.3 and optical quality looks like Zeiss their problem is more the mechanical. Also anybody knows if you can get them in Russia since I heard Optar has sort of an agreement that these lenses can only be sold in The USA and Optar is not allowed to sell them elsewhere. David

Hello Scott Thanks for the true impression. Reading posts and threads at the Reduser.net giving me a feeling that everyone is Red-blind there and no matter what they will praise the camera and reply to every little post with "wow" and so alike. I am not saying the camera is not good however I am convinced it is far from perfect and surely has some practical faults that can and need to be fixed. Thanks again for the true opinion

David I spoke with a rental house in Holland. They have a 2C with 2 perf for commercial shooting. This is a saving money on film alternative and competitive with HD and even super 16. you know more than I do, correct me if I am wrong David
