  1. Good God---- WHHHHHHYYYYYYYYYYYY! Adam- WHHHHHHHHHYYYYYYYYY!!!! Lets talk about the image!!!!! Not Bash and make fun of Redusers!!!!!!!!! Jesus guys....... I really do come here for the entertainment. Its just unbelievable that guys like ADAM can de-rail these threads. WE ARE GIVING YOU WHAT YOU GUYS WANTED!!!! PICS AND SOON VIDEO FROM THE CAMERA SO WE CAN TALK ABOUT IT. WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY THE INSULTS? You freak'n guys argued that the camera was vaporware (or whatever you called it) - You said they could not build it, you said they could not make it in time for NAB, etc...etc...etc..... Every thread gets closed because the camera is not out and everyone is guessing and fighting. You guys said the first 25 cameras would probably not come out for a couple more months... . It is out.. And finally, we are getting images from some DPs, and even some amature shooters..... Now you want to still bash the Reduser?????... Why do you care about us reservation holders posting up our reservation slot number? Honestly.... Please everyone- stop this poop!!!!!! Lets talk about the images, or video clips when they are posted. Stop bashing an excited reduser. I swear to you guys - I will do nothing but sit here and return fire and bash you guys back if this continues- then the thread will close. AND WHY? WE ARE HERE TO TALK ABOUT THE IMAGES AND THE CAMERA.... NOT THE DAMN GUYS SHOOTING IT OR THE GUYS SUPPORTING RED. Answer me this: Does this forum really suck this bad? Will it change, or continue to be a joke and nothing but a place to come here and be entertained. I was really excited to see some footage come back from some of the redusers because I thought that we could now get down to business and talk about the camera and the type of images it produces. BUT MY GOD- YOU HAVE IDIOTS LIKE ADAM, CARL, AND WERNER RUNNING AROUND ACTING LIKE A..HOLES. Lets talk about the camera. Not the people using it. Stop the insults.
  2. Carl is one of these guys who is nothing but a "nay" sayer. I have been watching his posts for a long time and I was so happy when he announced he was not going to be posting here again. I guess he got bored and wanted to stir things up a bit so he has returned here. Carl appears to be a smart guy who seems to have very good knowledge about cameras. His problem is that he can come across as very insulting to others here. Over time, I have watched him slam the indie film-maker, and I am simply tired of it. Now he is a blast to just make fun of. He is part of the reason I joined here. I can assure you that he will not give out any info of what he does - or what his credits may be. As he says that Red will never give out any info, I think you will find it funny that he will not either. I thought for now I would go lightly on him. I am certain he will return fire at me shortly. Get ready for the fun insults.
  3. Have you guys seen Ace Ventura? I was attempting to say loser the same way he did- but it back fired on me- he he.. laugh it up. Lets try it again, shall we.... "Looooo sssssseeeeerrrrrr" Maybe that will work! If we all want to point out how we spell on here then lets do it. Maybe that is what cinematography dot com may be good for. It certainly isn't good for coming here to discuss new cameras. I find that this is a wonderful website to join if you are planning on insulting people. Don't worry though I am on the war path- I remain on the side-lines until I here Carl say something insulting.
  4. "If the fanboys and illiterate dreamers want to go screaming at me...." -Carl Thanks for taking note of my spelling Carl and also for another insult to us fanboys and dreamers. You don't think I made the same mistake with my typing as you did with yours? Yet, you still want to call me an illiterate dreamer???? Dude- you are such a joke. You sit there and have the nerve to insult me about my spelling yet you make the same mistake??? I say again- YOU DID THE EXACT SAME THING!!!!!?????? Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't that make you look like a dumb ass? Carl, you said you were not going to post here again, yet you continue to do so. You said you like to learn more, however, all you do is complain. I haven't seen you say anything worth while since you've been back. Who are you learning from? Us fanboys that you hate? Us illiterate dreamers??? You never answered my question- Why are you back posting??? You want to slam this camera? Or only to stir up stuff? Anyway- I will enjoy insulting you back. Trust me, it will be like Christmas each day I come here to look at what you post about me. Come on and flame me. I will enjoy this very much. Oh- and make sure to use spell check on your post as I will with mine... he he he he hehehehehehehehehehe.... haha hahahahahahah... Can you all say, "LOOSER!!!!???"
  5. Thanks Jan- I saw this a few times at NAB- amazing!!! The trailer looks awesome on my machine here. Thanks for that link.
  6. You are right Jan... It is all about taking risks. That is all my team and I do here in South Florida- I love "nay sayers"!!!!! they only fuel me for becoming 100 times more determined.
  7. "I suppose the question really is: "When is somebody actually going get their hands on a camera and be asked for their $16,000 (plus applicable state taxes ). Or: "When does the name Reduser.net acquire meaning?" Apparently: "Sometime between now and August 30th." Jannard basically says #50 will be delivered by August 30, then another 50 in the next two weeks, 200 the next month, then 400 the month after that, then 500 per month for four months then 700 per month. He says he only has actual orders for about 2,000 units, so I presume he's expecting an upsurge in orders once people actually see the camera working in a real-world environment. Oh well, my work is done now:-) I guess I'll just sit back now and enjoy the flood of First-Class Indy productions sure to come surging my way." A QUOTE FROM CARL--- So they have done just about everything they said they were going to do. Yet we still get wonderful friends like Carl who run around running their mouth and talking about all kinds of mistakes they are making. Take a look at the last thing he said..... Pretty much a sarcastic insult to us indie film-makers. With quotes like that, Carl certainly looses credit of being someone we can take seriously. So Carl, do me a favor, either stop insulting guys who might be for the red camera, or just get lost. Do you want me to dig up more quotes that you have posted? Remember, I have been watching this forum for about 2 years now. I just started to post about a month ago- I know other things you have said that were pretty insulting to someone who wants to get into this business. Don't make me go search and dig for them. I would rather spend my time learning and working on new technology that can help this industry. Bu..bye....
  8. QUOTE(Graeme Nattress @ Jan 15 2007, 06:47 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Perhaps you'd better come over to reduser.net though if we're not allowed to talk about RED here? Graeme No thanks, I'll just sit on the sidelines. I don't really care one way or the other about the RED, and I get the distinct impression anybody who asks any sensible questions there is going to be shown the door rather quickly, a la some of the other fanboy-oriented forums. (my point exactly--- Why are you here Carl? Just to stir up a fight?)
  9. First off- Carl, I thought you posted recently that you were not going to post here any more. Am I correct? Why are you here again with your negative attitude??? Don't take this the wrong way, but honestly, get lost! You guys are something else! A bunch of you fine folk here at cinematography dot com started off by saying, "A camera like that could never be built." Then it was, "Well, I am sure it doesn't exist. It is a hoax." Then it was, "well sure... but it will never stay at the same price they claimed they would charge for it." Then there was, "They will never make NAB...." Then it was, "well.... I am tired of hearing about this camera from directors and producers... we need to see what a DP or indie film-maker thinks of it.... they need to get it into our hands so we can really try it out..." Then there was, "I doubt they will be able to get it out in the time-frame... I bet it will be sometime next year until the reservation holders even see it...." And now finally.... "They are rushing.... They haven't done proper tests...." HOW IN THE HECK DO YOU KNOW THEY HAVE NOT DONE THE TESTS??? DON'T YOU THINK THE CAMERA IS STILL GOING TO BE TESTED AS THESE THINGS START TO TRICKLE OUT!!! AND DON'T YOU THINK JIM WILL HELP OUT IF CERTAIN PROBLEMS BEGIN TO SHOW UP IN THE BEGINING WITH THE FIRST CAMERAS? My god- did JVC rush out the HD100? I bought one that had every problem in the book. Those guys didn't even help me. They just came out with a newer version called the HD110. Ops... looks like I can't just update the camera like a RED huh? Oh well, whats another 8000.00 to spend on the newer version. Carl- you and the Werner guy- I swear, you do nothing but run your mouth. Why not help? Why not offer ideas on how to make this a better camera. Why sit there and slam the camera constantly and why slam the indie film-maker. You seem to be a smart guy- if you are so interested in this camera (which I assume you are, otherwise you would not be posting here) why not offer new ideas, share your experience on what could be done to make it amazing. Contact RED- Help them. Stop this negative attitude and lets put that behind us. Lets work on this with everyone. This camera was built with ideas and concepts from indie film-makers. Don't you dare sit there and say that you have not insulted the indie film-maker in the past. I have read your sarcastic remarks... You and Werner's comments are what caused me to join this website. I love reading all the BS that you post. I would actually come here not to learn, but to be entertained. Eventually, I had to join because I could not take it any more. Especially when attacks were made towards reservation holders, like me, who plan on making indie films, and commercials. My main mission is to now counter your posts. Thought it might be fun for a while since it seems you're back. However, you could just go back to your original idea and just simply not post on this red forum anymore. Not a half bad idea you had there. I think the people who come here want to learn and ask good questions. Not just hear negative comments all the time, and also not to be slammed as an indie film-maker who wants a new state of the art camera. Call me a fanboy, redboy, or whatever you want-
  10. Bye bye Werner! You and that other guy Carl! What a complete waist and a joke. You know- I am a reservation holder of a red camera. I usually come in here to enjoy my lunch while reading the unbelievable worthless crap on this Red forum. Isn't that funny? I come in here just to be entertained? Doesn't that say something about cinematography.com? You were to think that this was a place you could come and learn. Pick up good info from others. I am a corporate pilot as a profession, and I run into guys on the road who want to become pilots. Some of them are looking for good information and help so they can find their way to a good career. I welcome that. Are they simular to us "Red" heads that I have heard so many insults over? Yes. But that is because they are excited about the possiblities of flying airplanes for a career. -- Just like us reservations holders who are excited about having a camera that could really change the quality of our productions. My schedule allows me to do production work on the side. We have been shooting on basic prosumer equipment for a long time in South Florida. We have won several Addy Awards and two Tellys, however, there has always been something about the picture quality that just never seemed to get to what I would consider "National" quality. I think Red will change this for me. I think it will knock our productions up to another level. Does this make me a "Red Head"? Should you guys go around and continue to insult me too? I have been reading this forum for months now, but never replied. Now after reading Werner's big announcement about leaving the Red forum here, I just wanted to take a moment out and say that his rediculous and insulting comments will be soarly missed. Instead of making stupid comments and jokes about the camera, why would he not want to help the red team with his knowledge. Jim has always been open. They welcome it. This is our moment to offer ideas to a team that is willing to listen and may perhaps make use of your idea. I have heard many slam some of the guys posting on reduser.net. Why read their replies? For the "smart" ones here, I am sure you will have no problem finding replies on reduser.net that are a good informative source of information. You will know which guys have the knowledge about Red on that forum rather quickly. Just filter out the comments from guys who don't know what they are talking about. Trust me, I have become an expert at doing this on this forum here. My advice to who ever wants to take Werner's seat here next - give the Red team their chance to finish testing and get the camera out. In other words- give them a break. They have done just about everything that everyone has asked, and they have done it with a fair amount of posters here laughing in their face. First it was - "...the camera does not exist, it is a hoax." Proven wrong Second it was - "...they will never make it to NAB with footage that is good." Proven wrong - I was there, and the PJ film looked amazing. And now third - "ha ha... it is overheating on a movie set." Read Werner's simular posts. My god- its being tested still. F900s have been known to overheat. Avanti down here in South Florida has one, and it over heats once or twice a week from the Florida heat. THIS IS A PRODUCTION CAMERA!!!! Can we spend some time here talking about why the F900 overheats? I don't hear many laughing about that. I don't know about the past history with Jim and this website, but he has been honest with me from the begining. He is being honest with everyone by telling everyone how things are going even if it is bad news. Lets use this forum for what it was designed to do... Talk about the camera, and stop slamming Jim, reduser.net, and reservation holders. Honestly- it puts cinematography.com in such a bad light, that it simply is a place to come here and be entertained with complete B S. Now- 20 bucks says, they will close this forum. Any takers?
