  1. Hi I'm interested in famous (commerical/film) production companies of Australia. can anyone write me names, web site and with comments if it's possible. regards,
  2. its a bit off topic, yes, its cheap to make thousands of discs then positives, but ; how producers will protect their "digital copy" release. it's hard to take positive copy and go to lab to telecine it. (labs will not do it even if they do it will be bad quality) but when it's digital some blueray disc or whatever, it will be easy to just copy it anywhere. we all know, there is "no protection" (oh there is ofc, for 2days then someone cracking) for digitals, never. today only russia and china copying (scaning) the film and making pirate copies. when it's digital, all countries will be able to do that. so why throw 35mm away when it's good, safe and all happy with it?
  3. my masters (Tarkovsky's cinematographers) V.Yusov and Kalashnikov told us that they shooted to svema and Tasma film stocks. They didnt like this stocks because occasionaly had troubles (like missing color layer in film) as they said Kodak gave a guantee about that even in that time(!) kalashnikov said "there was no big difference with color rendering between kodak and russian film stocks, sure kodak was better but I always got the results I want."
  4. Thanks a lot, David! I asked lab can they “print directly from master negative to master positive” they told me yes we will edit A/B negative not directly but without any (intermediate) double negative! The negative cut will be done by a professional negative cuter!
  5. Hello David, The filmprojekt is a student work with low budget, so there is no money to use intermediate film stock. Also, the projekt will not have a digital post production. I gona print directly from master negativ to master positiv without intermediate.
  6. Yes David, it seems to be there is no other way to do dissolve. Could you explain me how it will be done in the lab, I never used effects in lab before. The fade in/out and fade white I did in studio with dimming light, but this short film will be shoot just on nature. Can I do the fade out/in or fade white with closing and opening f- stops. How much f- stop I need to get black (fade out) or white (fade white)? I’ll use for this scenes Fuji Reala 500D Thanks for your recommendations!!!
  7. Thanks a lot! But I didn’t sow 1:1,85. Do this gates for Konvas exist?
  8. Hello Mr. Clive Tobin, There is no budget to prefer the easily and more successfully way. So I it has to done on the shooting! If there is someone witch have a great experience in shooting effects in camera and would tell me it, that would be great. The other question is, can I do it with Arri III, because there is no other camera to use! Thanks a lot for all your helps!!!
  9. Hello all, I have a question about gate of Konvas. Are the changeable, for example can I use 1:1,66/ 1:1,85? Thanks a lot!!!
  10. Hello all, I’m soon going to shoot a color short film. I have to use different effects like dissolve, fade in and out, from-to white. Please, could you explain me the technique of these effects. Camera Arri III. Thanks a lot!!!
  11. I dont have a link. last wee I watched it on dvd. nice work but couldnt understand that effect.
  12. Dir: Chris Cunningham dp: James Hawkinson grup:Aphex Twin Windowlciker Squarepsuher Come on my selector Alex Barber this two videoclips have same (or close) effects. it's like horizontal line with colors of flare.... Im interested how they made it. With filters or just using close focus optics with counter lighting? or or, just computer?
  13. yes kevin but because of this you cannot make this big errors, for example to shoot 48fps you will open 1 stop, even if you will not open it will not be this error which is will cost a spotmeter :) if you have money enough buy sekonic 778 its calculating also fps.
  14. better don't buy cine models if its have big diffirence $$$ easly you can calculate all this things (e.g. fps, shutter angle) better to buy best by spectral sensivity and comfortable one.
  15. strange, theorycally it must be more grainy after bleach bypass isn't? by my minitest after bypass colors losing warm tones becoming like copper. others students got other results I dont know why. I just think bypassing is not stabilized work, it can give other results that you expected.
  16. Im very interested alcott's desklighting is it special or normal 100w lamps? may be they have addictional lighting from somewhere?
  17. Pentax V and minolta F is measuring infra zone up too 1200nm sekonic dual spot F is expensive but is best by sensivity. its sensitive up to 1100 but less than minolta. (lux) I've made test by special machine which is giving light waves I dont know whats name in english, in russian; spectraphotometer. minolta is cheat and good, but if you will buy it you have to put IR cutoff filter.
  18. Hello, Its pentax V very good spotmeter how to use it? just press button and look to digits its measuring EV units then you can convert this units to F stops by table on it. there is shutter speed and red line which is showing 24fp/s turn your EV on line (downstere) then look at shutter speed every one have his Fstop (sorry language not enough to explain better :) regards,
  19. here is information about this special lenses Two Special Lenses for "Barry Lyndon" regards,
