Hi I am starting a shoot for a organization. This Organization has asked for a film to be done in segments the way that their broucure has them listed. We will soon be going to the Preschool program that teaches parents how to play with their children to help them develoup and learn. This is strictly what the film will be about. There are steps that we will follow. They want this movie to be .5 of an hour long which we won't be able to accomplish but will try. I was woundering if there are any ideas for this type of Educational Film. I am looking for format, types of shots, how it should be displayed and the best way to display it. How do I fill the time that it will take to get the info across. If there are any good ideas let me know. I will also be working with pre-schoolers so how do I keep them from crowding around the camera, or do they? Any ideas or insight will be greatly appreciated. I mean Any. Past experience would be appreciated as well. I am project manager so I am a bit stressed. Thanks

LOTR - Extended Editions
batman_dan replied to Tim Tyler's topic in On Screen / Reviews & Observations
That is for sure. I remember with ROTK half the audience at the advance screening stood up at a black screen and clapped 7/8 through the film before the ends were tied all together. That was a funny instance. -
Napolean Dynamite

I think this movie was made with High Class. What I mean by this is that instead of including sex and vulgar Language. Like what was said before. I am sure that there will no be a sequel, not possible where is the story line? You can only get away with that once, -

You talked about a TV. Production Class, That means you are in HS like myself. If there are other intrested why not presure and pursade you school to support you. If they have a class they must have a computer, they don't just teach you theory? If they don't; they should and you should tell them that. -

Wallmart is a corporation which mean lots of people to deal with. Private business owners are ussaly more complient since they are local they will be more willing than anyone else. Why not a local private Supermarket? I've used that type of loccation before and it worked great. Well except for continuity it was imposible to take shots that we would later edit together. Well that is my 0.02 Dollars. -

What ever you use there are ways to put it on the computer! Which is good news. And I recomemd it! There is lots of software out there for the home computer. Macintosh came out with imovie 5 which would give you good quality or you could go with Final Cut Pro which I enjoy using. PC has stuff too but.... I don't know about it. Sorry, since that is what you probaly use. I have gladly never had to do the Camera --> VCR editing extencivley only home movies for family trips and stuff that is realy what got me started. Well hopefully that Helps! -

STUNT INQUIRY
batman_dan replied to Hank Parker's topic in Students, New Filmmakers, Film Schools and Programs
I agree was is a film compared to a person's life. Why risk it. If it is essential to the script, well it just has to change. Professionals or nothing for sure. -
I hated this movie so very much. Even though I am a High School student I can still see flaws in the Cinematigraphy. I can't belive the amount of money spent on this movie it is horrible to think on what else the money could have be spent on.

I am a Grade eleven high school student and we are working on a short movie production. I am the Gaffer and we only have minimal lighting, I was thinking of incorperating other halogen lights. Is this a good Idea or is it Futile? Will this help or hinder? We Only have a 3 lights but it is an inclosed set so it shouldn't be to difficult, right? Thanks, Daniel  -

So Check it at http://www.vfs.com/ HOpefully this will help you in your search. :) HERE is a quote that describes it perfictly "Vancouver (population 2.4 million) is consistently rated among the world's most desirable places to live. It's been chosen the host city for the 2010 Winter Olympics and is only a 90-minute drive away from its 2010 co-host, the world class destination resort of Whistler, BC. As North America's third largest film, television and video production center (after LA and New York), Vancouver boasts an ever-increasing number of film, animation and sound studios, theatre, production and interactive media companies. The city is nestled in a breathtaking landscape formed by the meeting of the Pacific Ocean and the coastal mountains of BC. Surrounded by wilderness parks, Vancouver is virtual paradise for lovers of sports and the outdoors. The city offers a rich multicultural community, safe streets, sandy beaches, a vibrant nightlife, and a thriving arts culture at its heart." From VFS's site.
