I am a reservation holder. I am happy for the delay too. I can continue to shoot with the gear I have, and I will do just that. But guys- give me a break. This is very good news to know that they are making this camera as perfect as they can. I shoot on the HD 100 and I am sick and tire of things being obsolete right after I buy them. I think the red is perfect for me. I really don't want to get into all the reasons why, but I just know it will change some of the ways we do things on our productions. We are not stopping anything. We will continue, but hats off to Jim and his team for making this camera the best it can be.

Richard, Come on dude. I know about you too. I have been reading your posts and you have changed over time. I have no debate with you. You have to admit, there are some guys here that insult others pretty bad. Please don't make me name names. That guy had his video posted on another thread, and everyone dumped on not only the camera (which is cool- everyone can say it is video-y) but they went after him. Making him out to be an amature who knows very little. I thought the video looked pretty good myself. My whole point is that I am just poking some of these guys in the eye a little. Nothing wrong with a little payback. But I have never seen David do that to someone else's work. EVER! I have huge respect for him, so when he answers my post as he did, you can bet I am going to respond back. That post was not meant for him in anyway. And to be honest, I am curious as to what he thinks about it. Nothing wrong with that... Just curious. To me, I think Red has proved to be a fantastic tool so far. Maybe not perfect, but they certainly have done everything they said they were going to do.

David, This is not a question at all to pick a fight with you. Please, please, please do not pick up any kind of negative tone from my following question. (by the way- I sent you a reply on the other thread) I am very curious as to what you think of the Red camera. I have a huge amount of respect for you and your work. I certainly could learn so much from you. I would be interested in hearing your thoughts on the camera- good or bad. Do you think that image has a chance to hold up against film? I am sure you have seen some of the stuff some of these guys are posting. Maybe I don't have a trained eye, but I certainly think that picture has some serious kick to it. I certainly think for commercial work it is perfect for me. Peter Jackson said he really loved working with it, and that it would really change things for the indie film-maker. What do you think?

It is important to talk about the footage, and I don't mind people coming in here saying it looks video-y. What bothers me, is we are all suppost to be peers to each other. It just seems like instead of asking questions about maybe how it was shot and maybe giving out ideas on how to light things better, everyone wants to just dump on the work this guy made and not try to help improve ideas for the future. I know how critics can be. I get enough of that from my commercial work I do. I would expect that from maybe clients, newspapers and etc. But not here. Isn't this a place to learn and get ideas from others? It just seems like everyone is wants so step on everyone else's d-ck. To be honest, I did not think it was all that bad. I certainly loved the girl. So that sold it for me. Maybe I should go into the porn industry. Might be good for me. he he

David, I have mad respect for you. Trust me. Out of most posts here, I always read what you have to say. The problem I have, is that I see guys here slamming other people who are out there trying to do something cool and artistic. I have seen guys who admit that they are new to film-making and new to cinematography.com and they get nailed for posting something they are trying to say. Go back a couple of posts and look at what this guy Adam Thompson replied to someone here who was trying to learn. This should be a place to ask questions and to learn from others. But when you get an idiot like Adam, I can't help but to stir things up again. Again- It bothers me when I see you answer my post, because I know who you are and I have seen you do some beautiful work. I have total respect for you. And to be honest, if you told me to leave cinematography.com, I would do it. Any of my posts would never be aimed at you David. Please know that. I have never once seen you slam someone for being creative. If you had a problem with something someone did, you would give a good suggestion on how to fix something or improve. Not just slam their work. You are someone I will always look up to. No doubt.

God I sure learn a lot in here. You guys finally got what you wanted. Footage.... And yet a huge bunch of you sit around and do nothing but slam the poor guy trying to shoot and learn. It was you all who always said and continue to say, "Gee... Never wait for a camera. Get out there and go make a movie." And when someone does try hard and is learning, a huge majority of you guys sit around and slam the work. I can't believe you guys sit around and say, "maybe once the camera is in the hands of REAL cinematographers." ha ha hah aha hahahahahhahahaha.... God that Kills me!
