  1. Hey Guys, Thanks a lot for all your replies! The one thing I wasnt too crazy about the LEDs last time i used them was yes, the color, and also a bit punchy. I felt like kinos give a bit more natural look, and i was ok with letting the outside get pretty bright... however the reliability of the power with the LEDs might drive it home, i can always diffuse them and make them more sutile anyway... Thank you so much, I will post results! Carlos
  2. Hi all, I am designing the lighting of an int.car.day of an upcoming shoot, and this time I want to make sure it works. In the past, I have used power inverters out of the car 12v dc... with not very good results: I was successful to light one out of the two bulbs on a 2 ft 2 bank kino flo, for maybe a minute before it started flickering  Kino reccomends a pure sine wave inverter, does that mean something like this would be reliable to power a 4ft 4 bank? http://www.mcmelectronics.com/product/72-8...ELAID=220584740 I also hear great things around the forum about the parabeam 400, which also needs less power... would I be safer going this direction then? And lastly, (i promise) the other option I have researched is go off a different, external 12v battery, or even a few wired in series... Not sure exactly how to make this happen, but I would love to find out more about it! I thank you all in advance for the help! Carlos
  3. Thanks for the links and responses, all very helpful Ps I'm sure I didn't deliver accurately my teacher's views on the subject ;)
  4. I just graduated from NYFA one year program and i am pretty sure you can use that camera they get from Panavision in your thesis if you want. At lest that is what they told us...
  5. It looks amazing and inspiring. The music is perfect. I had to congratulate you
  6. Good work man, lots of different stuff too. I am just starting to build my very first reel, so my advice is limited...I would consider making it shorter, i think you would gain more intensity, and probably make your work look even better. Good choice of music too!
  7. Yea, in the one year program there is a 1 week 35 mm workshop. You can also use it for your thesis if you want. The camera is kind of old, probably not in the best condition
  8. Very interesting, all this. I have a few questions. I was talking to my cinematography teacher and he basically told me that hdv cameras are not true HD since they have to compress the image they record to almost mini dv tape. He said the only way to get full HD out of them is to get the signal out directly and record it to another device. I dont know, he made it sound like it wasnt worth it. So my question would be, how much of a difference would be between the hv20 quality and the hvx200, since that one goes to the p2? And how much better would the quality of hdv compared to mini dv? Also, the post production plug ins to vary the frame rate sounds really interesting, do you guys know of any links to research more into this? Thanks in advance
