  1. I have never used a film camera before and i am confused on the whole concept of sound syncing. I understand that some cameras have time code generators, but i don't know if these generators are used to input time code on the film or on the slate. If it is on the film, then why is a slate still placed in front of the camera and where does the slate gets it's own timecode? Also today, while browsing the Aaton website i came across one of their film cameras called A minima. On the website it says that this camera can sync video and sound without the use of a slate. I also want to know how this is possible?
  2. I have started having an interest in the DI field, but i don't have any idea of how that functions. Do i need a school for that or are there books or DVD lessons which will give me good knowledge about DI. Also what pro tools are being used now for DI coloring.
  3. I have noticed that the music video "ayo technology" has a nice artistic look different from film. So i was thinking it might have been shot on a digital camera so i wanted to know what camera was used in shooting it. this is the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Na4x2Uwflmg
  4. Were do u get informations on videos and the cameras used in shooting them?
  5. I am a bit confused on what to rent for a music video i want to shoot, so i am looking for some advice or tips on which i should rent. This is my first music video ever
  6. I want to shoot a music video with a 16mm camera and i want it to have some sort of glossy look like on most music videos. So i would like to know what film stock would be best. Some people have told me stuffs about reversal film but i don't know what that is and is not also specific.
  7. I want to start working with film cameras so i have decided to have a hands on practice. So i have decided to buy a used or 16mm camera. I would like to get a website that have used 16mm cameras for sale?
  8. Probably, especially because they normally give a glossy warm look that most of these HD cameras find it hard to achieve.
  9. I have noticed from a personal point of view that digital cameras including Red find it hard to achieve the glossy video results that film cameras can produce. An example will be this music video which was shot with the S16 Arri camera. http://evanwinter.com/vivianna%20ft%20dmx%...that%20shit.php So i wanted to know if this kind of glossy look is atributed only to film or can it be achieved with a digital camera. if possible with a digital please can i get some tips on how it can be achieved.
