Ima buy a Modern Studio menace arm kit. I want to use a 12by pole and also maybe have 2x6by poles with a joiner. Im wondering how the balance works. With a straight 12ft pole would you put 2ft behind the head and 10ft in front? Is there a standard ratio to how much pole is in front of or behind the stand? Also, you couldnt reasonably go much longer than 12by total pole with joiners could you? Its probably just for hanging small hairlights so im wondering if its worth trying like 3x6by poles with 2 joiners or if it gets unsafe. Yes i know menace arms are dangerous and only trained grips should be doing them. Any advice welcome. Thanks!!

Thanks for taking the time. Im looking for "peanut" bulbs. Theyre larger than those tiny ones. Think Clark Grizwold. Theres probably a version used in filmmaking too. -

Paying 3 grand for a fixture is insane unless you have a lot of gauranteed work. -

Is3 is rgb, battery power, low draw on ac and very portable. If its like a z90, its bright as buggery too. I already have 575s. Need good battery led but Celebs and Creamsource are out of pricerange and it would be good to have an led different to what everyone else has. But theres probably good reason noone has Zylights. -

One place where my Daylight Dedo would be poop hot is reflection. Im obsessed with mirror bounce ideas and it would be as close as you can get without a custom head to parallel beam triple bounce glory Haneke style. I really want one now. But then i want 2 m18s, 2 celebs, a paparazzi, a brieze and the list goes on. -

Ive already got cheap led panels. I just want some good ones and thought a zylight might be cool. But the z90 is amazing but seems like its a prototype. When they iron out the flaws itll be all i use... -

None of it matters on small jobs. Its just get some poop done. Most small time dps wouldnt know the difference if you told them it was a $3000 remote phospher or a $300 led panel. If theyre doing jobs where theyre metering and adding quarters of correction and doing it right, theyd get a gaffer. Theyll notice if you dont have any cutters or stands or lights left though. -
