  3. Gentlemen I will pass on your concerns and comments to Jasper Vrakking. He served as the on set engineer for the Genesis camera during the production of Scary Movie 4. He is currently working on a film festival where he is helping co-ordinate Hd projection systems. He loves to answer tech questions. Brad Hruboska Stadicam Op and Jasper's friend B)
  4. There is also the Aero head, as well as the power pod 2000, and Weaver steadman, and scorpio, and the Z head on the techno......etc etc........ Hows the movie going Dave? Brad Hruboska Steadicam guy.
  5. Well I have a friend who just finished Scary Movie 4 with the Genesis cameras as the HD engineer, and he has been raving about the images since he started. The combination of that large imaging chip and 4:4:4 recording has amazing color fidelity, and for compoiting zero weave. I am anxious to see a arri D20 in action as i agree that we need an optical viewfinder of some sort, but the accessories and funcitionality of the Genesis are quite good.

    TV Screen

If you shoot at 29.97 and use the phase button to make the line drift dwon, just remove your finger from the button whne the line is buried under the bezel on the screen. You will have picture sync but your aduio will drift. effectively vs. your 24fps material you are overcranking a bit so you will get a slight slo motion effect. You may have to ADR the dialogue to get it sounding normal in the video sequences. A trick to help is to blow up the video a bit , make sure the first and last lines of signal are buried under the bezel of the TV set.....hope this helps. Oh yes you will have to do this everytime you roll camera, sadly. If you can shoot a LCD screen at 29.97 the roll problem goes away, you just have to match to elominate flicker....... Hope this helps...one of my best friends is a 24 playback artist, and has done huge setups, both in 23.976, and 24, but it taks a special convertor, either with a tape feed or a computer video file feed ( usually for techy stuff). 7. I think Coke is the worst thing with actors, they are really keen, lots of passion an energy, and they can't focus to get through their lines. I reacll a bout three years a go working with an actor in to do a guest spot on an episodic sci fi thing i was working on, and he could not get theough a line... We had to piece together his performance with different angles, cudos to the editor, they considered recasting, but the director rallied for him and worked through the problems. Oh and then the lead actress walked off of the riser and took a tumble, blinded by the UV lights used in the scene, they flouresce yoour ineer eye fluid. SHE was and is a trouper, one of the few cast members I am still in some regular contact with. The other non intoxified thespians don't like it either.... We had another female lead who was not so nice on another series, and oh yeah, delays, difficult behaviour, ooutrageous stuff, missing a plane to come back form new york.....screaming for silence....oh it was delightful....Her co star on her last day toally told her off. The crew was absolutley silent.......it was beautiful. :)
