I go to school with a guy who bought a Letus setup for his DVX100 (or was it an XL2? doesn't matter) He was having trouble getting the picture in focus and asked a few of us for advice. One person told him to try closing down his iris to increase DOF.
That didn't make sense to me, since 35 mm adapters were explained to me as "projecting" a new, flattened image through the fixed lens and onto the chip, so the iris on the camera shouldn't effect the depth of field, just the focus (and brightness, obviously) Is this correct, or am I way off here? I only have thirdhand knowledge on this stuff, and I'd like to understand the technology before I buy one.
Oh, and it turned out the guy with the adapter had just ordered the wrong setup for his camera.
Thanks,
rob
