Hmm... As a huge advocate for film acquisition, I am glad that he will shoot on film. Obviously, he is one of the cinematographers that i look up to, but prefer his older film work as opposed to his later digital work. Photography wise, I think they are all great, but holm film originated movies have much more depth and richness to them. It's just my personal opinion. I mean I was watching The Assassination of Jesse James today, my god, such a beautifully shot film with a lot of depth and dimensionality with phenomenal blacks as opposed to Skyfall, for example, looks more 2 dimensional to me. Again, I wish I was the tenth of what he is as a cinematographer...
Sorry how many features you shot on film? just wondering :)

You can swap the Alexa body with Epic which brings to at least 8-10kg weight down from Flighthead.
Btw they didnt test it before the shooting? We tested everything few days ago before the shooting with Setpozitif to see how their rig working.

Ah schools again.Still this is big life changing question to me.Im from Turkey working in the industry for 5 years high scool graduated applied 2 times film schools and turned down.Somehow i found someone from web and offered my free work to get in industry. After 1 year internship i became AC /DIT.worked non stop and purchased Red Scarlet then Epic now i own Dragon and various film equipments.shot few music videos and in a year im sure i ll dp' on commercials too.Question is playing big ,whether i stay in my country and be standart DP or move U.S /UK get in film school, sell all of my investment/ equipment pay tuition.Start from zero and try to be DP in there..Sounds like gambling isnt it :)

shooting feature wont bring you somewhere better than your position right now..i dont know why but word ''free'' is always sounded to me repulsive.

The Alexa features an ALEV III sensor. Are you sure about that model number? (Doesn't it even matter what number it is?)
ON Semi manufacturers the Alexa sensor. I read about it a while back but I can't find the link anymore.

Thanks Greg its nice to have you on here!

Maybe its projector but it looked half of the movie out of focus to me.

That could be done with a Leko or ETC Source-4 Leko, probably with a iris in it though it may not be necessary if the lens alone gets you the circle size you need. With a light that close and the beam so wide, it may be more than a 50 degree lens, like a 70 or 90 degree.

There are also theatrical projector units that will create such spots, like a Vari-Lite:
Thanks for the tutorials in ASC :)
