  1. Can anyone really make a decent film (production value wise) with 12K ? I have ~35K and a great script. Anyone interested in collaborating?
  2. I have never used a viewfinder but use the good old style of two thumbs touch making 35mm frame to look at he camera positions/angles. Is this tool worth the investment ? I pretty much on shot films mode and in HD format which is easier to move around if needed accurate frame/angle positions.
  3. Thanks Stephen, good info. I checked with local community media center and found out that once you become a producer by taking a few courses they offer you can take out equipment to either produce shows for the local community channels or for your own production. The only thing is that they do not have high end gears as in red one for example. There is a reference to Cannon XL-1s on their web site. Regardless, this would be a good place to start and I plan on attending orientation to get to know more on what they have to offer. Raj
  4. I'm getting ready to shoot a short film and my budget is 3K. Should I spend this money and buy 5D/7D or rent a camera for the short? Would it make sense to buy it and use it for other project later on meaning invest in a camera ? The rental fee for these camera kit is ~ $700 (from du-all camera) and I would need it for one day shoot.
  5. For my short I had inquired mayor's office film and theater department (NYC) to rent prison cell and the fees with crew of not more than 10 people (including actors) was $144 per hour.
  6. Only way this will work is, if someone sets up a place and time and publish here then people will make an attempt to show up. For example, Place - filmcentercafe 635 Ninth Ave. (bet. 44th & 45th Sts.) Manhattan, NY 10036Phone: 212-262-2525 http://www.filmcentercafe.com/media/filmcenter.html Time - 7/8/2010 @ 7PM
