  1. Hi Joe. I just took a look at that wonderful bit of time lapse filming. That is fantastic mate! I wanted to do some timelaps of a dead animal decomposing. Something like a Rat or Crow. Might give it a go soon. Anyway nice work with the Arri.
  2. Up for sale is one of my Bolex 400ft Magazines. Complete with MM take up motor, these two items are in excellent condition and are up for £150 complete. Only selling because I now have 3 of these and only require two. One came with some other stock I bought. I'm based in Essex in the UK and will post to UK only. Postage is extra.
  3. I might be wrong but I don't think the Arri 16 BL can be converted to S16. The earlier ST model can be so I'm told.
  4. I think there's a place for video as well. I've been to the Video Forum at Earls Court many times and drooled over some of the lovely equipment that is available. I know these new videocams are very capable of producing stunning work. The reason I am reluctant to move to video is the many formats that are available. The relatively short life of a video camera compared to a film camera, resulting in constant upgrading, and in my honest opinion, film is a future proof format. I just don't feel that digital data can last as long as film and is easily corrupted. Assuming my film doesn't burn in a house fire of course.
  5. I have actually looked at getting a Konvas. I've watched some telecined footage on You Tube. Something to think about. But I'll stay with 16mm for the time being. I love my Bolex SBM, but would also like an Arri SR2 as the guy that pointed me to this site has one and I fell in love with it.
  6. Many thanks. I think this site is aimed more at professional people than amateurs - but I must say I enjoy reading the threads. There is a wealth of good info on forums. I would love to shoot some footage on a 35mm Arri one day. It's just a matter of getting the rollover jackpot on the lottery.
  7. Hi everyone, I hope this is the right place to introduce myself to this site. I was recommended to come here by one of the users of this site earlier this week. I'm a die hard film user both motion picture and stills. I'm 47 and have been shooting cine film since the mid seventies when I used to save pocket money to buy Kodachrome 40 cartridges. Moved up to 16mm in the late eighties. I've owned and used Bolex H16's Arriflex ST and BL cameras. Present camera is a Bolex H16 SBM with 400ft Mag and MST motor. I am toying with the idea of getting an Arri SR2 if one comes along at the right price. Not too bothered about Super 16 as I still like projecting my films. Anyway that's a bit of my background, will look forward to reading the threads on here. Here's a pic of me back in 2003 filming in Hammersmith, London.
