Hello guys, first time post here...
I am shooting in a few months, indoor, outdoor short film. Time of day will be afternoon/early night. About half and half indoor/outdoor. Real time, flashbacks.
I have the option to rent the following 16mm cameras:
Arri SR3 - $130/day
Arri SR1 - $50/day
Arri BL - $20/day
Eclair ECL - $20/day
I have looked through the forums, they are awesome, and not really found direct comparisons between these cameras. I have a very limited budget, whatever my Visa limit is. Heh.
Now, i hope to shoot Super 16, there is a transfer house here that does 15min/$15 plus $2 per cartridge. thats pretty good i think. The film will only run just over 12 mins, so that is ok by me for price. Not sure what the shooting ratio will be, 5/1 mabey, i know what i want.
Also, it might be shown at a variety of festivals here in Canada, and most but not all of the theaters are digitaly equiped. So i can make DVDs of the finished product and show them easily. But, some might only accept 35mm, so Super 16 seems like the way to go.
Sorry to bore you all, i could use any help you can give. I have a few follow up questions for later.
Thanks guys.
Sean Simes
