I agree, getting the right balance of exaggerated colors, contrast & brightness is key. i shoot a lot of DSLR footage with a lensbaby composer and attachments for a real soft and warm 70's look. Once I process that footage thru the right filter setting I am golden.

Anybody utilizing authentic (non-after effects based) circuit bent video effects in their productions? I create and incorporate a lot of modified video hardware/circuitry in to my productions as well as peddle my creations online.
