Ive seen people follow steadicam or dolly with nets before and I'm wondering what its used for. I saw guys with burlap panels flanking the operator in Full Metal Jacket on a BTS and I felt like that was for protection because of the dirt and debris flying through the air. Is this for the same thing? Thanks!

You could buy this and cut it: http://store.smallhd.com/store/dp4-monitor-accessories/DP4-Acrylic-Screen-Protector_2 It is just made out of acrylic and since that LCD display is only for menus and doesn't need the precision a cover for a monitor would need, there should be super cheap options at hardware stores.
