  1. Hi, I want to increase some highlights in the background which comes trough little wholes in a wall. (light is bounced) I want to create the effect that the light glow's . The mood of the scene is dark. Which filter would you recommend ? regards Paul
  2. Hi i'm working with an Arri Amira and i want to invest some money in filters, specially for filming faces. I looked on some filter tests at vimeo and created a list of filters which i find interesting. Warm Soft FX1 Soft FX 1 Black Diff FX 1 Satin 2 Digital Diff 1 What filters would you prefer when shooting faces to get a more "film look" and not so sharp ? Thanks
  3. Hi , I'm working with an Arri Amira and we want to shoot in LogC of course. So i heard that most of the people just shoot in LogC but they don't exposure in the correct way to use really the whole Dynamic Range. When i remember shooting film i always used a grey card and spottet it with the light meter. Should i do this shooting in LogC also ? If i have to decide to over or under expose a little , better over i guess ? Maybe someone has experience shooting LogC and want to share with me best regards Paul

  5. Hi, My name is Paul and i'm a 40 year old cinematographer from Austria. I want to visit some workshops in the US in December this year to open up my mind :-) and to see how you guys are working here. Does anybody know the quality of the Maine School in Boston ? Are there any other good 1 Week Workshops in NY or LA in december you would know ? I find this way of demonstrating very nice : It would be also great for mie to visit and accompany a bigger fictional production. I'm not a student , i just want to observe . regards Paul
  6. It all started with the sensational announcement of MoVi. The possibilities with this gyro-stabilzing system are incredible. The technology of the gyro system isn’t a new concept but this new interpretation gives all filmmakers a new instrument to realize their creative ideas. Mindcut blog has created a compilation of all current systems. http://www.mindcutfilms.com/3-axis-camera-stabilizing-systems-overview/#.UhcQzrwR5pd
  7. https://vimeo.com/72049588 Some more files from the Black Magic Pocket Camera. We have decided to use Final Cut X for grading because we want to know how to get some useful pictures in a short time without using a color grading software like DaVinci.
  8. https://vimeo.com/71812380 We are very thankfull for John Brawley’s first ProRes Files of the Black Magic Pocket Camera. We have decided to use Final Cut X for grading because we want to know how to get some useful pictures in a short time without using a color grading software like DaVinci. Our goal was to make a quick and uncomplicated color grading video without an additional grading software. Therefore we used Final Cut X and we were pleasantly surprised about the results. Lenses used: SLR Magic 35mm F1,4 Olympus 14-35mm F2,0 Olympus 7-14mm
  9. https://vimeo.com/59642343 Used Equipment: Canon C100 Zeiss CP2 18mm/35mm/85mm “A human being is only breath and shadow.” – Sophocles This quote from Sophocles inspired me to shoot this short film. It was a really nice experience to work with Canon C100. I pushed the ISO up to 4000 because i wanted to see how much noise will be generated. Of course there is some grain in the picture but the low light ability of the Canon C100 is still amazing. Working with the Compact Prime Lenses was uncomplicated. The Magnifier Button, which operates also during recording is an amazing tool. The form factor of the C100 is very handy and you are able to make your shots in a quick and comfortable way.
  10. https://vimeo.com/58725919 Hi i hope you like my little funny unboxing Video :-)
  11. https://vimeo.com/57522480 Hallo, This was test for working all alone. I only had a backpack with a Canon 7D, a slider, two little light stands for the slider, a camera tripod and a Canon EF-S 15-85mm. So i hope you like my little movie. regards Paul
