  2. Hi guys we have a set of schneider diopters 138mm. We are working with a Bright Tangerine Viv model. and zeiss standard speeds (80mm filter size)The matte box has I x3 4x5,6" slots. Its possible to fit the diopters there? The matte box have no donut or diopter holder. And I would like to know a solution to fix this without using tape. I was thinking on a step up ring, but the rental house dont have from 80 to 138. Some ideas guys? Thank you :)
  3. Hi Guys some of you had installed the Serene arm into the easy rig? If its so, it is difficult? I cannot find any video on internet which shows a step by step video on how its build. And I found that the instructions mounting on the page of Flow cine are a little bit chaotic. Thanks in advance!
  4. Hi I have some confusion btw. the old zeiss lenses. The standard speed and the super speed. From both are two versions right? MKI and MKII. And the Zeiss Super Speeds are the same as the Zeiss HS T1.3? Thanks in advance I will love if some body can make this clear :)
  5. Any thoughts on this lenses, we are shooting next month with this lenses, but we have a couple of scenes in a night club, so we definetely need some nice 1,2 or 1,4 lenses. Any idea in some lenses to match with the dog schidt optics? We don't have that much budget. Otherwise wich kind of old sets do you recommend, I took a look at the Zeiss HS (but over the budget) or the Cooke S2/S3 Speed Panchro (P+S Technik) rehoused. Some nice alternatives?

  7. Hi Guys I need some tips, last time we shoot in multi camera was a little bit messy in postpro. This time we have a multi camera shoot with 3 Alpha 7S. Our profile will be Slog2, my question is what about the White balance, and to get the best a nice match btw the 3 cameras, I read something about the Xrite ColorChecker Passport . Or just a grey card will work? How do the pro´s will proceed with this? Thanks in advance
  8. We are on a production and we are looking like a effect like this one: On the: 00:01, 00:50 and 00:52. Somebody knows wich can of projector can we use to recreate that effect or its something special for this kind of cinematography? On this video too in the second 00:11. Thanks for the feedback guys!   9. Hi everybody I'm digging into the Alpha 7 SII and get some questions about exposure. As I read in some articles LOG curves are made to keep the max. data in the highlights so the correct way to expose is ETTR mode, so about +2 stops. Will this be the correct exposure and the way to get the cleanest image possible.? When you are in a low-key situation where the scene make your histogram going to the left and the shadows are all over, which is the best way to expose? Because in some tests lighting a subject with a really hard source and a lot of contrast in the image I found the picture really grainy with a lot of color noise. Thats the same thing happens when you work with LOG C in the Alexa?

  12. Hi all! I need to rig 12 neon lights in a background scene, the thing is that each 4 lights needs to have the shape of a "3" (a letter M inverted, so at the background will appear: 333. The lenght its about 1m. I was thinking on C stands with a clamp, but I'm not sure if 12 C stands will be the solution when all the neons needs to be relatively close ones to each others... I'm running out of ideas these days? You have any clue on how I can do it guys? Simple and quick?
  13. Hi guys! I'm looking for more knowledge about lighting different scenes with different looks, also for some boo that explain technically how the old film work. +Any advices or recommendations? I recently read (Días de una cámara, Néstor Almendros) and a book about film photography. But I want to go more in deep with lighting and camera. Also some guide about digital like: color space, gamma... and all these technical aspects?

  16. We'll rent a BMCC production 4k for this weekend ( a two days shooting). We have two options a 5D MKIII with the ninja 2 and the BMCC. I read a couple of articles and saw three reviews of the camera. We can't afford to shoot in RAW, so decided to shoot at 4k Prores HQ. It is worth it this option? We have two SSD of 240gb for the weekend and hard drives to do the backups. My major fear is the storage. Theres a big difference beetween the prores LT and prores HQ? 240GB are like a 43 min at 4kProresHQ according to this table: Another question, it's ok to shoot at 1080 with a camera like this?

  18. I'm grading footage from a 5DMIII for a shortfilm. We take this reference : I did this analysis for the color: Anyone have some suggestions on how to get this look? I recently got some gorillla grain (35mm scans). I color correct with the color wheels in colorista. I add some browns in the shadows and blues in the highlights but I'm not close enought!

  21. Hi guys, I've a shooting in two weeks. I need to light an interior at night with 2 x 1kFresnel. We have shower curtains to make some diffussion in the set and a DIY reflector . The thing is that I don't know how to place the projectors to get a lighting for a dialogue of 3 persons sitting on a table. I made this scheme. I don't know if it is the correct way to lighting this scene, that's why I asking you guys howI can improve this lighting. What do you think?
  22. Thanks for the replies guys, You're right Mark, just 500w halogen worklights. I use one projector and some cardboard to achieve some handmade barn doors. This is a couple of frames extracted from a testing shoot with the canon 650D and the yashica 28mm 2.8.
  23. Hi! I'm trying to get a light setup like this : I know that when you use a backlight this reveals the trajectory of the light, because the particles in suspension reflect this same light. So I ask my self what kind of light projector I will need. Do I need a more spot light or flood light? And it's necessary only 1 light without any other light in the room? It's possible to get this look with natural source of light? I only have 3 500W halogen projectors, it possible to get this light with these projectors? If I have the possibility to rent light projectors, what kind of this I will need and reflectors (parabolic, elipsoidal...) ? Thank you all
  24. hi everyone, I'm a 18 years old student living in barcelona. I'm studing lighting and photography composition, two months ago I started working in audiovisual production as a 2ndAC. Now I would go to EUA to do some practices, I think that the better place to do this practices is L.A. So I'm wondering if you know some companies to do these practices, . Do you think that these companies can provide me some help to assist at some film school or short course? My first objective is learn more about the film world an some day become a DOP or camera operator. Do you think that being foreigner I've the oportunity to work or do these practices? I really apreciate a list of companies that do some works in commercial, shortfilms, corporative even films. Thanks for your time
