Hey everyone,
I'm trying to figure out the best analog tape recorder(s) for both formats and maybe a great svhs-c camcorder for a crash rig for some shot on video (non digi-tape) movies this summer?
I'm a little late in the game to remember the vhs beta war but always heard that beta was technically better quality but VHS won because of the longer time per tape and marketing. So I've come across this section on wiki for
400×480 (300 TVL): Super Betamax, Betacam (professional)
440×480 (330 TVL): analog broadcast, BetacamSP
560×480 (420 TVL): LaserDisc, S-VHS, Hi8
So does this mean that S-VHS camcorders have technically more resolution than the BetaCam SP?
So I've narrowed down my list to a few from each category under that $500 range...
Looking for full manual control, best low-light / largest sensor, and was 3ccd the best for this generation of cameras?
If anyone has had experience with any cameras or have a better alternative please chime in
