The other thing that would be great to know is the barrel size for the power on the 1014. It seems to be a very thick inner pin, I haven't worked out the size yet

Hello everyone, I've managed to lose my 1014 XL-S battery cover, meaning I can't use the camera. First question, is does anyone have a junk 1014 XL-S I can buy to use for parts? Second question is does anyone know whether the battery covers for any other models are interchangeable? Eg the 814 or 514 XL S? I know the 1014 standard isn't a fit (I think). Thanks for any help! D

Hi all, I'm trying to expand a Retina MacBook Pro via an Akitio Thunder2 Thunderbolt enclosure. I've looked at the Cyclone 2705 and 2707 boxes – they look good but are impossible to buy. A nice complementary set, all in PL mount: 3x Carl Zeiss and 1x Panther Carl Zeiss Distagon 8mm T* 2.1T Carl Zeiss Distagon 16mm T* 1.3T Carl Zeiss Distagon 25mm T* 1.3T Panther Cinar Super 16 35mm 1.3T Information on the Panther: "in the 1990s Panther got these lenses custom made in small batches. Since there is no 35mm lens in the Zeiss lens set for Super16 and since the 8mm Zeiss lens would not cover Super16 it makes sense to get such lenses custom made to complement a Zeiss lens set." £3800 for the set.

Hi Jon – no problems so far, no. The system is great and I've used it across Ultraprimes, vintage Lomos and Superspeeds. I now have a spare motor just in case. DJI replaced it quickly, and as you say the price point helps!

All resolved with DJI, torque settings were incorrect! They replaced the motor

Hi all, I have had a DJI Focus for a bit over a year – I've had to have motors replaced 3 times so far. I bought two motors in case of problems, and I'm glad I did. But while DJI turn around the repairs, I only have one so no backup if it fails onset. This last time I spoke to DJI, one of their representatives let the cat out of the bag. I mentioned that it was a problem that kept happening, and I asked if DJI were planning to improve the motors rather than keep sending me the same replacements, prone to the same flaws. This was their response: "We are sorry for the trouble. Please kindly understand the below points so that to use it properly in the future. 1. Focus's motor is very weak, so any jam would cause this issue." I was shocked. I knew that the motor wasn't great – I don't use it with full-on pro lenses, but it's been used on 16mm Superspeeds and the like. Nothing too tough – when I asked the DJI representative for clarification on his statement, he finally said: "I am sorry, but I am not in the position to give comment on the Focus officially." Well, unofficially he's said more than enough. I would recommend anyone avoid the DJI Focus unless it's just on DSLR type lenses, it should fare ok on a stills lens. Otherwise you're in for months of returns... I'd love to get a refund but I'm long beyond that. If DJI are reading, please a) fix this with an improved motor and b) can I have one of the upgrades when you do. Thanks

Thanks Kenny! I tried but in the end we rebuilt them ourselves. Todd – it takes a minute but it's not hard. 22 Standard AA NimH cells - 1.2A, Mah 1700-2100 – flat top / solder tabs Reuse the thermistors etc from inside the battery (not hard to disassemble) and rebuild based on what you see in there. You'll probably need to score the tops of the batteries to make sure the solder sticks (the Arri cells are electro soldered). Every single battery needs a tab top and bottom. They've then glued the block together, but regular glue gun glue won't be heat resistant enough to replace it with. We recelled 4 batteries in about 5 hours.

Not the case I don't think, Tyler. No doubt 2 perf is sought after but 3 perf 235s are around and available for close to this price. The Aaton Penelope in London remains unsold at £12000 for a 2 perf movement...
