  1. I looked at your vimeo and your interiors look way under lit. I'm not surprised you're not impressed with your images. Are you using any lighting apart from practicals?
  2. Hi Guys,

I would be interested in whether the story is clear. I seem to not like not explaining everything and assuming that the audience will put 2 and 2 together, but I'm not sure if there's too little exposition.

For example - the dude lighting the cig toward the end. That should be an important moment but maybe I've shown too little. I find it's something I struggle with in writing. I feel a bit stupid explaining everything. Critiques welcome.

 Thanks in advance.

 Steve
  3. 'alchohol-induced control-trollish thing' That's a great phrase - will have to remember. :-) I have to say that I don't find the shadows a problem with the BMCC. You have to expose correctly though. If I'm doing a candle lit scene, I'm still putting a few hundred watts in there and then pulling it down. You still need to sometimes bring out the noise reduction since you often can't control every part of your image. I've got a short at the top of the 'show yer stuff' section and I don't think there's too much noise going on. At least in the original file there aint much. Net compression adds some banding here and there.
  4. He posted candle light images as proof of his problem. Candlelight is massively under exposing - of course you're going to get FPN under those conditions. My BMCC gives FPN under those conditions. Manufacturers often replace boards to placate customers.
  5. Hi Guys, Thought you might like to watch my recent short. Didn't cost anything, since I have the camera and a few chinese soft boxes - and a terrible slider. BMCC with ais Nikon and some non-L Canon glass. https://vimeo.com/114121593 Password: 5150 Steve
