Hey Alexander... Dr. Bolex here... did you ever get your camera??? How were you communicating with me??? I have no record of you on my books... what email were you using???

    Let me know Arthur

This is odd... Nobody has ever contacted me to complain... I always here about it by some one else telling their tale... And some i've never worked on their camera...

It's not like i'm hard to find or get it touch with.

Not a class act really, but I want to inform those of you considering having a service/conversion done by Dr. Bolex. He has not returned my Rex 5 after he had (supposedly) inspected/serviced it at the beginning of June.

On June 12th I had paid the invoice. Since then he has gone from telling me that "the camera was shipped and that he would send me the tracking number" to "the camera is waiting to be shipped" to not responding at all. I don't want to insinuate anything (things can happen), but the communications and the fact that it's been almost two months kinda make it clear to me that the camera is "gone" and that others may need to be warned.

If you have any ideas on how to get ahold of him, kindly let me know, since I legally can't do much from here (Europe).

  3. It probably may have been knocked out of place in shipping.... (like that never happens)... a SPANNER tool is what is needed to access a good grip on those nuts. those are available at a full service tool/hardware store. you want to adjust till you have an equal black area around the image. while you're at the tool/hardware store get a little ounce bottle of model car paint to apply to the nuts you adjusted to lock them down. Then with compressed air gently blow out dust a flacks of paint loose in the viewfinder.

    Good Luck!

  4. YES! it is absolutely possible to get a super16 Bolex camera is good running condition. From Doctor Bolex! ... a fully converted H16 REX or REX1 with masks and viewfinder converted too. You can add upgrades such as 10X or 13X optics and those get expensive. The 6X viewfinder has been modified optics that make the image appear larger. we'll also convert your came. Visit the website.

  5. Using 16mm film... Do anyone use any other format besides 16mm and Super16mm? I know there are others... But am I wrong in saying Super16mm is the most popular?

Come visit us at our revised website:   drbolex.com

    Thanks...

    Arthur!
