Just to add that LWKS are doing rolling fixes on V2023.2, so it's worth regularly checking for updates. It's something that they've been doing this year, since crash logs are now easily uploaded on the V2023 series.

Unfortunately, history is full of such characters, although if wacho is a term to cover them is another matter, and they still exist in various forms today. A number of films do feature the darker characters from the past, some of whom still have an affect on life today.

Don't watch feature films to learn history, but care has to be taken not to mythologise these people, as happens in some cases. 

There is a plunger type device for the internal light meter on the SR, which would probably need to be deactivated at the back of the lens. I used my Zeiss zooms with an Arri bayonet adapter onto an Aaton and a CP16, but unless there's a clearance issue with the Arri ST mirror, it should fit with a mod.

Which format are you shooting on?

Strobing may become an issue, if you're not going for that effect.

During that period, there's a good chance that they used film lights for night exteriors, combined with wide aperture lenses as an option.

35mm high speed film neg became available in 1983 with 5294 rated at 400 ASA. Newer stocks followed in 1986.

There is usually a knob/barrel for adjusting for individual eyesight on film cameras. In the case of the Beaulieu, it should around the viewfinder eyepiece. However, I gather it has a range of +2 to -2 diopters, so if you're outside that range you may need an extra correction lens.

They used to have these for the viewfinders on DSLR cameras, which is an option worth exploring. Your optometrist may be able to assist in finding the required correction.

Was this TV interview shot on commag film, as used by 16mm news cameras? That tends to be the usual way that mag strip gets used by TV stations.

I would get advice from a restoration specialist.

I've been involved in the digitalization of an old 16mm black and white drama that I made years ago. For copyright reasons, the music has to be replaced, fortunately, I had the sep mag tracks, which I hoped could just be used for the new soundtracks. Unfortunately, we discovered that they were suffering from vinegar syndrome, plus the coating from the spacer had come off in places and stuck to the magnetic film in places.

For budget reasons, we only put the dialogue tracks through the restoration process (3 out of the 9 tracks). The high frequencies were gone, but with EQ and denoising, quite good audio was transferred to WAV files. I also had a digibeta master, from which the other audio could found, but it will involve recreating new sections of the soundtrack for the new mix.

Check out if there are any restoration companies where you are. My audio work was done by Cinelab in London, they do archival work.

LWKS have been running a rolling series of regular new builds on V2023.1 addressing issues as they occur. As part of this process, they have added the ability to detect crash logs on startup and give the option of uploading to LWKS.

The Bolex is less than ideal as a sync sound camera. It's noisey and if you haven't got 400ft mags, the 100ft rolls result in alot of short ends or wasted film.

I assume this a period piece. Shooting at 25fps on a CRT tube should create a good result, you don't say if it's film or a digital production.

Now that lower cost AI noise reduction software seems to be available, this could now be worth exploring as an option.

You would need to practice changing magazines with the CP16 range. You can do it, but it requires good timing, so you don't miss any key points during the wedding.
