Hi everyone! I'm going to be making a movie with my friends soon (Horror/Comedy). This may be a broad question, but here it is. In your opinion, what Cinematography techniques add dimension and depth in an image? With this movie, I am hoping to immerse the audience by creating a visually immersive and interesting "mise en scène". I have been leaning towards good blocking, but I would love to hear how you all feel this is accomplished. Thank you!

Obviously Iphone's aren't Arri Alexas, but they fit in your pocket :D Please message me when you shoot a film on Iphone, I would love to see it!

I know this is an old thread, but I just wanted to mention this is such a great piece of advice. I'm going to try lighting in my garage later tonight with this in mind Guy :D

I was taught the over and under. However 2 years ago when I was a grip; the gaffer told me I was doing it the wrong way, so I did it his way while on that set (Over-Over). Hope that helps the thread :)
