I supervised the camera dept. at Iwerks for 25 years. When I retired in 2016, so did the camera dept. The entire camera inventory has been with me since. There are 2, 1570 cameras. Those cameras can run up to 48fps but that is really pushing them. I have no immediate plans for those cameras. Yes, I have the MSM 870 lightweight as well as all of the 870 cameras that MSM built. -

Yes, Cinema Products was originally contracted to build the camera to Iwerks specs. Part way through the project, CP went bankrupt. Iwerks then brought the project in house and finished it. I am the owner of the camera so if you have any questions about it, please let me know. -
Nolan to use new IMAX cameras on next film

8P/65mm sound camera? Please share -
Imax does not use a PL mount. They have their own proprietary mount designed by Marty Mueller (MSM). The majority of the primes start as Hasselblad's. The Zeiss glass is removed from the Hasselblad's and then rehoused.

New IMAX Film Cameras in Development
Scott Shepley replied to Tim Tyler's topic in Cinematography News
Speaking of NOPE I have a slightly tangential question. Does anybody recognize the lens on this camera and can you venture a guess why Antlers Holst, the character of the DP in the movie might have chosen it? Also what's that harness around the lens. Is this to attach a lens blimp? Thanks guys. Looks like an IMAX Mark II camera built by Jeff Williamson. The “harness” is a cage that were used on some of the longer lenses. It helps support the end of the lens to prevent vibration. That is probably a 250mm Hasselblad. -
Clearing some stuff out of storage. I have a Mitchell GC, 35mm camera with 2 movements. One movement has negative pins and the other has positive pins. I was using this camera on an optical printer. Originally used in the military (white in color). It will run up to 120 fps. The camera includes a Baltar 75mm 2.3 lens, 2) 1000’ magazines and an a/c motor speed controller. $1900 for everything + shipping. This price is about 50% of what the sell for on eBay. Item is located in the Los Angeles area. It’s very difficult to add photos on here so if you’re interested, just send me a message with your email and I will send them to you. Thanks

Clearing out the storage unit. Very specialized block batteries custom built to run multiple Arri III cameras at once. The charger is adjustable from 12v - 22v. Currently set for 16.5 volts. The battery blocks (i think I have 4-6 of them) have been sitting for 20 years and will need new lead acid cells. They have very light use on them but unfortunately the cells died from sitting. There are 9 each, 6 volt 10 amp hour and 4 each, 2 volt 6 amp hour batteries in each block. 4 pin xlr and digital readout. It will cost around $300 for new replacement cells to bring these back to life. Size is 13 1/2" x 13 1/2" x 7 1/2 " $100 per battery/charger + shipping
